Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Center Caps

The center pieces always would come out during solves. This became very annoying because I would spend the next few minutes trying to track down all the little caps. Eventually I had to superglue them in place, but after lubing its among the best beginner 7x7s out there.

Great beginners cube

Out of the box this cube is sandy and after break in gets very smooth but still sandy. Its middle layers are great and the shades and plastic are amazing. If you aren't careful you could get those really bad lockups where all the pieces misalign but those are not very common and are not hard to undo. This is a great puzzle and if you are looking to get a first 7x7 this is the one.

A true beginner puzzle

The YJ YuFu is marketed as a true beginner's puzzle, and for good reason.

I've always given budget cubes a fair chance, and for the really impressive ones, I have consistently said that they would be acceptable to use for any skill level. The YuFu however, does not garner that praise.

Stability is a problem, as turning at any speed faster than slow causes a good amount of catching and lockups. I changed the tension several times and lubricated the puzzle two different ways, and still, the catching and lockups persisted.

The plastic is very prone to scratches, and some of the pieces, when looking closely, appear to have a frosted plastic, while others are glossy. Not sure if that was a factory mistake?

Overall, I would only recommend this puzzle to true beginners because of its price and stability. If you're turning it slow, and solving in around 10 minutes, go for it. If you you're in the 6-8 minute range, I'd say there are better options for a good price, like the Mf7s, and if you're below 5 minutes, I wouldn't even waste the time, it's just too unstable.

Although I will say I'm a sucker for moyu stickerless shades. That was about the only redeeming quality...
