Product Description

The DaYan 2x2 50mm is the larger of the two DaYan 2x2 sizes. It boasts an internal mechanism similar to that of the critically-acclaimed ZhanChi. It is quick but doesn't overturn and cuts corners nicely.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

AWSUM!!!!!

I got this 2x2 a month ago and i averaged 32 then i got this and with the same technique i get sub 20 average. It's so smooth. It came amazing right outta the box and i didn't have to use lube. There is one con though. The corners twist pretty easily so sometimes i get DNFs for that. Other than that, it's awsum. I totally recommend this product to anyone who wants a faster 2x2.

Spectacular if you know how cubes work

This is the greatest 2x2 cube on the market right now, but you need to know what you’re doing. I bought one last December. When I received it, the tensions were too loose for my liking. I tightened it and used it for two months with no lube. I broke it. I thought I got ripped off, and I shopped for a new one. I searched youtube for the cubes used for the fastest times, but all I saw were Dayans. So I did something I thought I would regret for sure, I bought another, with some lube along with it. This time, I didn’t touch the tensions. I gave it 300 solves to break it in and it didn’t pop or lock up once. The tensions were perfect, I just didn’t know it the first time. I even asked for a backup logo sticker, and I got an entire sticker set for free. No I’m not being payed in any way to write this. My average went from 8 seconds to 6 seconds, and I have yet to lube it. Thanks, Cubicle! (Yes I’m a real customer. Heres proof: poopo)

DaYan [50mm] 2x2 “Big Hands”

DaYan 50mm 2x2 [5⭐️]

I started off my 2x2 cubing experience with a Rubik’s 2x2 and needed a better cube to get faster times. I also have pretty big hands so I have to accommodate that comfort issue when looking into new cubes of any kind. I looked into many options but this (Sticker-less) DaYan surprised me. Not only is the feel of the cube sleek and comfortable, the control out of the box was buttery and amazing. The colors on this cube aren’t the most vibrant but there actually better than other (sticker-less) cubes I have. This one feels especially well put together with durable materials. I’ve solved the cube so many times already, and haven’t kept too much count, but for sure well over 50-100 solves and it still has that buttery and amazing feeling every time I pick it up. This 50mm is a little bigger than other 2x2s I have but still fits in my pocket along with a wallet, keys, and/or phone so I really like taking it places with me. 2x2-ing in line waiting for Tea, while I’m taking a break from work, sitting at a restaurant waiting for food, or even just chilling.. I’ve found my 2x2 ZEN with this 2x2 cube and I highly recommend it. - Brain Sauce

A Little Clunky

OOTB, the DaYan 2x2’s a little on the crunchy side. I had previously owned a 2x2 DaYan that was far smoother to turn and had more of a heft to it, but this one feels lighter and a bit more fragile. I’ll probably keep shopping until I stumble upon a 2x2 that I like. Until then, this will have to suffice. It's not terrible, but it fails to impress.

Better than a Rubiks

I got the 46mm version, but that one was discontinued, so I'll review this one. It was significantly better than my Rubiks 2x2 and was the best cube in my collection for a while, but my recent spree of getting newer cubes (2019 and 2020 cubes) has shown me that it isn't that good. The problem of corner twisting and popping is mostly fixed with some tightening, but without any lube, it is really stiff and scratchy and loud. With the MAX lubes these problems are minimized, but it still doesn't stand up to more modern tech. I got it because the fastest times were with this 2x2, but I recently realized that the fastest times are all flukes (usually just a 4 move solve). Averages give way more away, and the fact that hardly any of the fastest now use this cube shows that there are better ones out there. I'm saving up for a Valk now.

My Two Cents

Out of the box, this cube was very bumpy, and in the first couple of turns it popped. In a few weeks I learned how to re-assemble it and then I started solving with it. After a couple hundred solves, it is broken in. It is now smooth and very good.
Overall, if you want to get this cube, learn how to re-assemble one immediately, as this cube pops a lot.
If you want to know, this batch is the new plastic version.

New or Old plastic it's Amazing

I have both and old and new plastic dayan 2x2 and they're both amazing performers. What I really like about this cube is how customizable it is. You can really make this feel any way you want. I've even figured out how to make new plastics as smooth as old plastics! If you want it to feel like a lingpo then put cx3 soft springs in it and a little bit of lube, if you want it to feel internally grindy like a wittwo then lube the core and not the peices and put it on fairly tight tensions. For old plastics just break it in over time to achieve the buttery smooth feel. And as for the new plastic, that's my little secret to put on YouTube later on. But anyways. GET THIS CUBE IT'S AMAZING!
