Product Description

The YJ Floppy Ghost Cube is the 1x3x3 floppy variant of the original ghost cube. It features various irregular cuts for each layer that make it more challenging to solve compared to an ordinary 1x3x3 floppy cube.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

The world's hardest floppy cube.

Would you believe that this thing took me a full half hour to solve? It's deceptively difficult, as the 5 axes result in situations that you wouldn't encounter on a standard 1x3x3 four sided puzzle. If that wasn't bad enough, the "ghost" nature of it constantly makes you end up placing pieces where they don't actually belong, and being all one single color means that you can't tell when looking at a piece which of the 10 combinations of position/orientation it should go in for a corner piece, or which of the two orientations it should go in for an edge piece (ok, that's a slight lie because the "brushed metal" design of the stickers make the edge orientations obvious, though one edge _almost_ looks correct when it's oriented wrong). By my math, this puzzle has over 60,000 possible piece arrangements (and given the odd number of sides, I don't think there is much in the way of parity to make the number of possible scrambles that much lower). So in the end you have a little puzzle that is great to fidget with, takes actual effort to solve, and slips effortlessly into a pocket.

Ok, enough about the difficulty. What about the puzzle quality? Well, the pieces rattle a little, but still feel solid enough when you turn them. It can corner cut ever so slightly, but not enough that you won't run into lockups from time to time. Due to the trapezoidal shape of the edge pieces, you can't make any quarter turns of two sides and then turn the edge in between them much like you can on a normal floppy cube (technically you could force this move, but it's clear the puzzle isn't meant to move in this way, and I believe if you did this you'd make the puzzle "unsolvable" without repeating the action). The only downside is that it's stickered, and as such it's going to have a limited lifespan if you keep it in your bag or pocket (though in theory you could remove all the stickers and it'd be just as solvable, and in fact even a little harder due to the lack of clues as to edge orientation).

Better than I thought!

I thought 8 dollars for this would be a waste, but when it arrived, it was fun and challenging! Recommend if you can solve a Floppy Cube or the first layer of the Megaminx! (maybe)

Even A Beginner Could Speedsolve It

I absolutely love cuboids, and this is probably my favorite, because it has the ability to sort of shape shift (not like a regular floppy cube) and it's a minor challenge, when lining up the corners to the star points. Its such a well turning puzzle that anyone can solve. Its also really pretty. I got the silver one.

Great EDC puzzle

I own this puzzle only for couple of days but I already think it's great. Some people say it's pretty difficult, but I think anyone can solve it without knowing algs. It's just common sense. For me is an awesome puzzle. I love it :) also for that, it is so easy to carry arond and you can always have it with you.
The Cubicle is the BEST shop in the world :) with great puzzles, great prices and great team!

Nice

It turns well and it is a nice, quick puzzle to do when I’m bored. I don’t own a regular floppy cube, but based on what I know about them, this cube turns differently in that it can’t change shape.

Good

It was a good puzzle. It turned well and performed great. The only thing is after a while the edges of the stickers start peeling off.

FLOPPY GHOST CUBE

I absolutely love this cube. It is so much fun to just play around with it. The turning is incredibly smoth but there is almost no corner cutting. A critical point is that shapeshifting doesnt work because of the angle of the pieces. But all in all a very great cube!

Definitely a challenge but overall fun.

Bad

Fun to solve but sooooooo hard to turn almost as hard as a vintage 1983 cube
