Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

This was my first 3x3 speedcube and I had to say it was a huge upgrade to the Rubik's storebought cube. It cuts 45 degrees, extremely quiet, very smooth, and was much faster than the storebought. At the time I received it, I averaged 45 secs and it was a little hard for me to control for awhile. I now average 25 secs and it still gets a little out of control, but with enough practice, I'll eventually be able to control it. I am going to purchase the Zhanchi, but this cube would be great for beginners and intermediates.

Actually still good for beginners nowadays

I bought this about 4 months ago, and it sadly got stolen not long after. However, it was surprisingly good right out of the box. It was tight, but still turned easily and corner cut nearly 45. I didn't get to set it up because it got stolen at school so quickly, but when I had it, it was good.

Good Cube

This is the v2 of the GuHong. The v2 features some torpedoes to prevent pops which was an issue with the GuHong v1. Stickers are stock Dayan shades which are dull but pretty durable. Turning is very smooth when you turn slowly, when turning fast, the cube is clicky and loud. Corner cutting is 45 degrees and reverse is about 2/3's a piece. Corner twists don't really happen a whole lot, over the 100 solves that i have done, i would say that i have gotten about 5-8 corner twists which is not bad at all! Pops don't happen since there are torpedoes, if you have loose tensions you might get some pops. Overall, i really like this cube! I'm reviewing this cube in 2017 because iv'e had this cube since late 2014,even to this day, i can still recommend the GuHong v2!

Good beginning speed cube

Great for people who get 1 minute or less on their cube. It was my first speed cube until I brought it to school and someone stole it ☹️ It was amazing and got my 25 second pb w/ beginners method. I got stickerless. The middle slices are crap but is very smooth and fast if lubed properly. Mine was losser than out of the box tensions and that suited me. Pops if you corner cut over 45 degrees and twisted on me only one time of the 5-6 months of having the cube. It popped on me in a restaurant and I had to go under a table to find the piece. Great cube and pay the dollar to get stickerless. Worth the extra dollar. Get da cube in stickerless!!!!!!!!

Great, but outdated

This was my first proper speedcube. It certainly is good, but it is outdated. As much I like this cube, I feel other cubes do a better job than what this cube did.

Review

I've had my DaYan GuHong V2 for about 2 years now and it wears down after a couple of solves I've lubed it several times and it gives me minimal results, but overall it's my only cube and wayyy better than my old rubiks brand. I recommend this to beginners otherwise if you want a popular cube use the zhanchi. For my cube setup I have never tinkered with the tensions when I first got it, I stuck with the regular tensions. I use traxxas 50k as my lubrication and would love for my next cube hopefully to be a Moyu Aolong. Definitely an awesome cube for a starter. My cube of course was stickerless and unfortunately I cannot enter competitions with it. Oh well, if you got this far in my review I thank you for taking the time of reading it, good luck cuber! (Average:40secs)

AMAZING, Better than the Zhanchi

This cube is amazing, but terrible out of the box, in fact, I put it on my shelf of cubes I don't like as soon as I got it. Lately, I ordered a zhanchi, and I decided to give the Guhong one more chance, because they were both Dayan cubes. It was still terrible, but I cleaned it out, lubed and tensioned it, and IT WAS AMAZING. As soon as I got my zhanchi I, it performed nothing like the Guhong. This cube is fast, controllable, has good corner cutting, and rarely pops if ever! I just ordered a 2nd one before I wrote this, and I hope it is just as good, except better out of the box.

This cube is smoother than the zhanchi, with a little to no clicky feel. There is a slight bumpiness when turning slow but unnoticable when turning fast. This cube has AMAZING M-slices, which I need because I am a sub 20 Roux solver, but this cube brought down my times from 18s average down to 16s, it may not seem like much, but 2 seconds can be the difference between an amzing average and an ok average. I also got my best time on this cube (9.87) and I also used it in my first competition! I HIGHLY recommend this cube to any level speedcuber.
