Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Be careful!

I love the idea of this puzzle. I love the looks of the transparent blue plastic. I have bigger hands, so turning the Bauhinia II was always a problem for me, especially with the pointy bits surrounding the turning block. This puzzle brings that fear to a new level.

In theory, a smaller hand could grasp the three edges of the turning face with fingertips and safely rotate it. I did find a technique that works well enough: hold the puzzle in two full hands, and use both thumbs to dislodge a face, then shift over to the exposed points, and push those over to complete the turn. It is slow, and will make any sort of algorithm nearly impossible to track, but it works.

Lubing didn’t help as much as I hoped, Tensioning has promise, but you will need a 40+mm size #0 Phillips head screwdriver and luck to find the screws in the vertices (not in the center of the turning face).

Now we come to the pointy bits. They are tiny/thin, catchy, and sharp (for a puzzle). You can see in the first image the surrounding points (“pillars”) to avoid scraping your fingers on. The orange corner highlights the casual separation that happens with friction in the turn. A misaligned face can exacerbate this (first blue corner). And the final one shows the hazard if a petal hooks a surrounding pillar during a turn. After catching a few of these under a nail, and generally snagging them with my hand, I have equal parts fear of damaging myself, snapping a tip off, and damaging myself on the snapped off tip (if it ever happens).

{note: backing off the tension more than I felt comfortable doing really helped. The majority of sides now turn with only lurches of friction, But, hey, at least they *can* be turned by one hand now…so maybe some more tuning will make it truly playable…?}

So, get it if you have the patience for the finicky highly complex puzzles out there, but don’t expect this puzzle to go as fast as your brain will. 🙋🏼‍♀️
