This Maru Core Magnetic DIY Kit will convert your TengYun V1 to a core magnetic version! This kit adds magnets to the base of your corners as well as around the core. This gives the puzzle a more pronounced magnetic feel with added stability.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop".
This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces.
This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts
which come off can be reassembled by hand.
The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by
corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

I had high hopes for this kit, and I bought a Tengyun v1 just to install it on. On this kit, compared to others I have installed, the corner magnets orientation was not obvious. Please see the Cubicle's video on all 5 of these Maru kits. What happened with the WRM kit is what happened to mine, with reversed magnet polarity. Unfortunately this video was not out before I tried my install, and I ended up ruining a brand new Tengyun V1. Please test the polarity on every corner magnet to the core before you glue anything to avoid making my mistake! I was able to remove the corner magnets with force and nail polish remover, but I bent/damaged the corner stalks enough that the cube feels nothing like a smooth and buttery Tengyun. I would give this a lower rating, but after watching The Cubicles video honestly I do want to feel what this would be like properly installed and will probably buy both a new Tengyun and kit to try this over again. Be smart and check your polarity before you glue anything!
The core is very easy to install, the corners are a little touchy but not too hard to allign. I had a small slip and got a bit of super glue on one of the outside faces which has permanently fogged it, but that's just a me problem, go slow and be careful and you shouldn't have issues.
I like the slightly increased magnetic feel this provides, but it also feels like the way it pulls on the pieces can cause an audible squeaking/creaking that's noticable considering how quiet the Tengyun V1 normally is.
I bought this for the Tengyun hoping it would increase the magnet strength a little bit. However, it multiplies the magnet strength at least 4x over. While it's not bad, it does make the cube harder to solve for longer, and the actual magnets themselves were not clear on how they were supposed to be oriented, leading to me having to abandon the Tengyun cube because of all the super glue inside of it. Don't get it, and stick with the original Tengyun.
Took me a while to appreciate how good this mod is. It gives a lot of extra stability to the cube in addition to stronger magnets, both of which are issues that some people had for the regular Tengyun. I main a WRM 2021 maglev with core magnets but did poorly at round 1 at a comp so I used a core magnetic Tengyun in round 2. Proceeded to obliterate my PR average, knocking it down from 13.50 to 12.67, which I was not expecting at all given my poor performance in round 1. Easy installation if you're used to magnetizing your own cubes. Biggest downside is the price - $12.99 is frankly ridiculous for a core magnet kit, especially since it probably costs around a dollar to produce. I bought mine when it was $8.99 and I think it was worth it. If you *really* like the Tengyun and wish it were more stable and had stronger magnets, I would buy this, otherwise I think it's a waste of money.
Makes the TengYun loud, clacky, and unpleasant... and the magnets are WAY too strong! Don't buy this kit!
It broke my cube. Far too difficult to workout because there is no instructions available on the internet. Wasted 50 dollars and now I have to buy the way beyond overpriced pre installed version so I don't mess it up again.
