Product Description

The LanLan Void Cube turns just like any 3x3, except it is completely hollow. Instead of having a core or any center pieces, it is held together by rings that run along the edge and corner pieces.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

A functional Void Cube.

As functional as a void cube can be. The general design of the void cube makes for a pretty unpleasant solve. The sides turn pretty well when lined up, but as expected there is zero corner cutting. Solves just like any other 3x3, but with the added challenge of a possible last layer parity. It's nice to have as a collectible, but not something to consistently solve. If you want to experience what it's like to solve, just take the center caps off of a regular black plastic 3x3.

Poor Quality

I really wanted to like this cube because it made a nice alternative to the 3x3, and was slightly harder to solve. However, the design and/or build quality on this puzzle is poor and it catches constantly. Lube helped with the turning, but it still gets out of alignment too often and catches/locks up.

I don’t know if another manufacturer exists for these, but avoid this one.

Ehhhh

It's a novelty. If you buy it knowing that, you won't be disappointed. It turns like crap. It's meant for display. I've done ONE solve on it, then put it in a clear case and stuck it on my cube shelf.

Collection item only

This cube looks nice, but is awful to play with (or at least, right out of the box it is). You basically have to use your whole hand to turn it. My advice is : buy it only if you want to add it to your collection.

Nice collector piece, but no speedcube.

Out of the box the turning was rigid and stiff. I added a few drops of maru lube and it got much worse, locking up on every turn, until it dried. Once the lube dried all faces turn smoothly, but there is still literally ZERO corner cutting, and sometimes a little rocking back and forth is required to start a face turning. As a result, speedcubing fingertricks are prettymuch impossible. This is just due to the coreless construction and can't be fixed.

The skickers were better/brighter than I expected, but I restickered it anyway. I just got it for my collection, and I prefer the conventional look over the Rubik's Void cube.

Solving it is not super fun, and I haven't run into any parity. It's exactly like solving a 1985 rubik's cube...with a hole in it.

Great cube for a void

Over the past year, I bought two of these. One for work and one for home. Actually, the other one came just the other day (from another seller). I was disappointed at first by how stiff the new one was compared to the other I had at work and dropped a few drops of lube into the little notches at the corners. Even still, it was reluctant to move like I wanted it to. The next night, after getting home I tried again and the difference was night and day! It's much faster now than the first one I bought. For a void, I couldn't be happier!

It hardly turns

It’s worse than a normal Rubik’s branded 3x3 and it takes me around 10 minutes to solve for that one reason.

better than others

This cube is better than the newer rounded designs as they have pieces that fall apart. Smooth turning, on mine one side is a little stiffer than all the others. Hopefully I will be able to break in the layer and the cube will get even better!

Horrible turning

This cube is a cool idea make but is done terribly by Lanlan. If you want something that can turn well, just dont get it. The turning on this is terrible. Honestly, i have this cube and hardly ever solve it due to it just being unenjoyable to solve.
