Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Underwhelming, but shows how much potential a v2 has

This kit could be incredible but……. It’s not.

Tips:
Steven’s said they use those washers because regular Weilong-style washer mods make the tips to fast, I found that, for the first time ever, I don’t agree with Steven about pyraminx hardware and the tips are too slow no matter what, but I had some washers lying around so I was fine.

Magnet strength:
the actual cube NEEDS extra edge magnets, used 2x 1x4mm n40 (roughly same size as the magnets from the kit) and it made the cube ALOT more usable, and made lubes feel like they could keep up with the cube, it also made the cube feel more substantial.

Ballcore+edge-core magnets:
Very good, no complaints, very round! Clear that they have improved the general printing/design quality from the lbl Weilong kit which is nice because the Weilong has already good quality

‘‘washers’’:
Yeah, no these were a good idea in theory, but we’re just pretty useless, put they did prove how cheap and easy 3d printed Weilong-style washers would be

Tip staying on thing:
This makes the tips [TITLE CARD] compared to how they were before the mod (if you didn’t get the reference go watch invincible) it’s perfect.

Maglev vs standard RS:
The standard is better than the maglev but the cubicle made the choice to recommend the maglev, due to the fact the maglev is just to fast and corner cutting is worse and that the pyraminxers that were given a spring /b haven’t switched to a maglev, and that the maglev is now on sale, it just looks like a shameful way to clear inventory (btw I like the cubicle and enjoy there videos so I’m not trying to flame them) and people have done the mods I’ve done to my maglev on spring and gotten incredible results that are better than an old batch ylm.

Tensioning:
Tensions are hard on this puzzle so you need callipers, on future iterations a replacement adjustment system as aided to the screw would make things better

Conclusion:
This kit is good, but you need to make the cube tight for the cube to feel not flimsy, and with more mods the kit becomes something really special, that being said I’ve gotten a 1.71 ao12 and a 1.40 ao5 on it and many other 1.5 averages but, at the moment I think a Weilong is still better unless you do more mods.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your review, and I appreciate the detailed feedback. I'll start by saying that the RS Pyraminx is fundamentally different than the WeiLong. If you are completely happy with your WeiLong, you will most likely continue to prefer the WeiLong. I still use mine as well. Little Magic users are more likely to prefer the RS because of its lighter and faster turning.

The tips are definitely up to personal preference. I made a /B with WeiLong washers and got a lot of table +2s because the tips were so fast. It makes sense that you would prefer them to be faster, but I decided to go with the printed washers because they are less likely to cause issues for most people.

I believe that extra edge magnets also make sense for some people, but they increase the weight of the turns, which goes against the intent of the /B.

The original /B prototypes made by Isaac were the Standard version with MagLev added because Isaac didn't like the purple plastic. I typically don't like MagLev, so I made a /B with springs to see how it felt. I found it to be too slow and it felt surprisingly like a WeiLong, which, again, goes against the intent of making something for people with a different turning style. Both versions of the RS are very good sellers and are restocked fairly frequently, so the decision to recommend MagLev has nothing to do with inventory.

It sounds like the WeiLong is just a better puzzle for you in general, and while I'm glad that you found and RS setup that you like, this kit just may not be for you. If you have any other questions or want to talk more about this, please feel free to reach out.

Very good upgrade

I was really excited to get this kit, because a lot of YLM users liked it, and it did not disappoint. This is the lightest turning pyraminx I've ever used. The tips are on the slower side compared to the YLM and modded Weilong, but I honestly prefer these. Auto alignment is excellent, so the corner cutting is good even though I have this on tighter tensions than my other pyraminxes, and I lock up a lot less on this compared to my other puzzles. I set it up with a bit of weight 5 and it's just the right speed for me, a little faster than my YLM and weilong.

I would only recommend this for people who are at least sub-5, because otherwise there's not much reason to get this instead of a YLM or Weilong (unless you already have a maglev RS). I would recommend this especially to people who like the YLM (especially an Ezra modded YLM). It's a very light feeling puzzle, so if you prefer something heavier, maybe this isn't for you.

The mod was straightforward to install. I haven't installed the mod to prevent tips from falling off because I haven't had that problem yet, but I've heard that they start to fall off more over time, so I'll probably put them in eventually.

I haven't had this pyra for very long, but I've already gotten a lot of low 2 averages with it. Definitely the best puzzle for a light turning style, and I would highly recommend it!
