Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Bad...

Out of the box, this cube was VERY Very stiff. It was very hard to turn. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Super tight

Right out of the box the cube was extremely tight and it took a good 7 or so screw turns to get it a sight bit smoother. Not that I've turned it a lot it's become a lot better.

Solid Gear Cube

For the first version, this gear cube is pretty solid. Stickering is decent, turns are what you can expect from an older cube, but otherwise a good cube.

Amazing

When I got it, the package was sort of damaged from shipping but the cube was unharmed, out of the box it was stiff and seemed in desperate need of tensioning and lube, but about 10 solves later, it was how I wanted it to be, it was fast with some lock ups, which is expected because it's a puzzle of gears, gears don't always work together smoothly, but all in all, I love it and would buy it again!!

Center caps

The turning is very light and fast, however the center caps fall out VERY easily and now my Gear Cube is missing 3 out of the 6 and I can't solve it.

Review

Very simple puzzle, most people wouldn't require any guides to solve it, but still quite fun and relaxing to play with. The rotation is very nice, it's very smooth and makes a satisfying clicking sound as it turns due to all the interlocking gears. Although there isn't much of a challenge to it, it's quickly become one of my favorite puzzles to just pick up and play around with.

This isn't a very difficult puzzle. Out of the box, I found the cube very stiff and it caught a lot when making turns. I also wasn't impressed with the stickers on it.
[3 stars]

After modding the centers to give the pieces room to move past each other, as well as replacing the stickers with the Tony Fischer inspired stickers from Cubesmith, it quickly become one of my favorite puzzles. It now turns great and doesn't lock up at all. It's low difficulty makes it fun to just fiddle with.

The first time I played with a gear cube was at my first competition. I quickly solved it and saw no need to get one. My parents bought this as a present and I enjoyed the many times that I solved it. Although it is not difficult, it is fun to just play around with.

Out of the box it is very tight and turns slow, after you loosen it and lube it it turns amazing. It is a fairly low quality cube though the screws strip easily but for 12$ its a good buy if you want a gear cube.
