Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop".
This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces.
This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts
which come off can be reassembled by hand.
The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by
corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Horrible cube.
Magnets: The new edge-corner magnets are legit just really strong slice magnets but having larger radius which makes slicing feel uncontrollable. With these magnets, you can even feel a magnetic bump halfway through a slice.
There are also no UD edge magnets so turning during non cube shape feels inconsistent.
Features: YJ failed to put maglev (which is just better in sq-1s) and instead still has springs. YJ UV coating will chip as I've exprienced before. There will be a black cap version later (when it was first released there was no black cap version and unlike the v1, you aren't able to buy one and interchange them to get a bumblebee colour scheme). Also this cube is really heavy, doing long sessions are like a workout.
Mechanism: The mechanism is the same, except for this version having thinner edge and corner stalks which makes this cube even more prone to breaking. I also realized that the caps on the v2 are interchangable with the v1
If you want a better cube than stock mgc v1, mod it, get the picube (thought there are some concerns about quality control) and set it up, or pray that gan releases their sq-1. Still get this as it is the only new sq-1 in like 5 years
Edit: I broke an edge, maybe don't get it.
Edit 2: There has been new batches where the edge piece has been thickened, the breaking problem will probably happen less would I would still reccomend the v1 over this
Maybe this image can justify it
$5 extra for:
-UV coating when you can polish the V1
-no swappable caps meaning black/yellow will cost a lot extra or will be half frosted half UV (not to mention they waited a month to release black caps)
-More brittle plastic that you can notice small chippings when just doing first turns
-a harder to remove logo
There is 0 reason to get a V2.
Do not buy, is simply a more brittle v1
For being the v2 of an already good sq1 I was expecting to have more than what was given. It’s still good but the u/d layers felt tight and it was still using a screw, unlike the prototype gan.
when i got it i did a few turns and it popped
Cube is good after A LOT OF SET UP and solves, heavy emphasis on a lot, yet the edges break all the time, I've broken 4 in like 1k solves, if you're happy with your sq1 you really dont need this
this is a waste of money
it had so much potential, but the caps are hard to change and no UV, and also it is more brittle than V1.
Just get a setup v1 if you are serious abt squan

The cube is decent, it isn't much better than my maglev mgc but any improvement is great, my only issue is I bought this cube on release in yellow/white expecting them to release black caps soon, kind of annoying that I might have to get another cube just to get white/black caps
Unfortunately, extra caps most likely won't be available because it is very difficult to UV coat spare parts.
