Product Description

The Chester 4x4 Halfish Cube is half normal 4x4 and half 4x4 Fisher cube. So in order to scramble or solve it you will need to align the layers first. Good luck!

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

An Intense Challenge Even for the Experienced

This cube, which is mechanically identical to a regular 4x4x4, is tricky to operate because the 2nd and 4th layers must be 1/8 of a turn for the cube to function. All the same algorithms apply - except for how to restore the centers when you apply an opposite edge pair exchange sequence.

Pray you don't get parity

This is an interesting cube with one major flaw, it kicks up terribly when performing Rr/Ll or Ff/Bb moves. I seriously spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to do more than just U/u/D/d moves. I though maybe it was bandaged and it would only rotate with certain configurations (other than aligning the angled layers by 45°). After adding some lube, taking it completing apart and reassembling it, I could final do R/L moves easily, but even then Rr/Ll still would lock up so bad I often got lost performing parity algorithms.

The alternating normal and angled layers make for a super interesting solve. Did you know parity algorithms rotate center pieces around? It makes sense since that the only pieces that could cause parity, but it means you have to do them so it rotates the orange/red centers and not the other four.

In short, it's an awesome puzzle, but difficult to actually make it work.

First 4x4 shape mod.

Not sure what I expected being a 4x4 mod. All the joys of a 4x4 parity coupled with the shape mod aspects makes it something not for the faint of heart. Turns very well. I really enjoy it.
