Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Better than the WeiPo V5 AI, but is still probably not worth it

tl;dr: Performs great, has cool features (wireless charging and a numerical IPG), is ridiculously fast (similar in speed to the V100 Maglev), and experiences some minor catches which can be fixed with slowing lube and tensioning. Probably shouldn't buy it though as the practicality and utility of a smart 2x2 is limited.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had a chance to try this cube at GAN's offline Shanghai store, and I've owned this cube since August 2025 so I've also had plenty of time with this cube. If you want an in-depth look at the hardware of the puzzle you can view my video review below.
This cube retains the same corner design as the outgoing 251 series, with the internal edges having their torpedoes flattened and widened to increase stability (which is important, especially for this cube as I'll talk about later) and fit the larger ball core that houses the electronics. The cube has 2 key new features: wireless charging and a numerical IPG, the latter we'll probably also see in GAN's next generation of non-smart 2x2s. The plastic on the 251ui does feel harder than the plastic on my 251 M Pro, even after setup and lube, making the ui's handfeel much more clacky and tactile. The turning in the Pro feels much more vague, while the ui has more crunchy turning.
The cube is bone-dry (at least mine was, not sure if they started lubing them for global market releases), causing it to be ridiculously fast. The cube also ships with the loosest axis distance and the second-loosest spring compression setting. There are a total of 3 axis distance settings, and 4 compression settings. It being super loose on the loosest setting does not concern me, but what does concern me is it being uncontrollable on the middle-lowest compression setting. If you want the cube to be more controllable, I'd suggest using some heavier lube (I like to use XMT10 to retain a faster feel, but some W5 or super honey might also work).
The outgoing 251's piece design already is prone to minor catching, although not much of a problem. However, due to the speed and looseness of the 251 ui, the catching issue becomes much more prevalent (see 5:41 in the below video). Part of this catching issue demonstrated in the video is also because it was on stock settings (the loosest axis distance, 3 out of 3), and I have found out that this can be mitigated as you make the cube tighter. This is also where the wider torpedoes come in; I think that this cube would be pretty much borderline unusable without the wider torpedoes. The cube has pretty good corner-cutting, about the same as the outgoing 251 series and the best out of any other 2x2. But the speed and the minor catches definitely makes this a cube that requires light or accurate turning.
The major question then, taking in account all of this and the price (which at $80 USD is cheaper than the WeiPo V5 AI but still insanely expensive), is if it's worth it. Unlike 3x3s, where the data helps you optimize F2L solutions, analyze your pauses and rotations, 2x2 solves are so short (often sub-3 for even moderately advanced CLL users) that the app's analysis is frequently overkill. This cube is a great release, no doubt. It's a good cube for what it is. I wouldn’t recommend most people buy it, just purely out of value and the practicality of a 2x2 smartcube alone. But if you’re trying to collect GAN smartcubes, you have disposable income, or you just really want a 2x2 smartcube, then I don’t think you would regret your purchase.
