Product Description

The ShengShou Gigaminx is a 12-sided puzzle with one more layer per side than the Megaminx. It is a 5-layered Minx puzzle. The puzzle comes pre-stickered with the standard ShengShou shades. It is also pre-lubricated from the factory, and it turns very easily and smoothly right out of the box.

It comes with a set of factory replacement stickers.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Fun to solve

I haven’t compared this to any other gigaminx, but the turning is okay. The stickers started peeling before my first solve. Stickerless would be preferred.

That being said, it is the highest quality gigaminx on the market. Its corner cutting it not great, but I think this was intended because it is highly pop-resistant. Comes with full set of extra stickers, but honestly they are not that much of an issue. Very fun to solve, good price as well, I would have been disappointed if it had cost me more than $50.

If you’re reading this
If you make a stickerless version of this then it will fly off the shelves. I understand how much harder it is to manufacture a stickerless puzzle with all the different kinds of plastic, but more people will buy it if you do.

Good puzzle, bad stickers

Puzzle turns pretty well, especially after a few solves. my one complaint is that the stickers are not very durable, and several were peeling before I even finished the first solve with one having already fallen off. thankfully, the puzzle comes with extra stickers, so it's not a big deal. I feel like with more high quality stickers, this would be my favorite puzzle in my collection. even with the flawed stickers, i would totally recommend this puzzle.

Stickers ?!

If this was available in a Stickerless version...
I'd buy two! Why no Stickerless ??🤔

wish this puzzle was stickerless

I think this is an older puzzle. it may still be new. But i think this puzzle was made like the last gen style. it works well for a gigaminx. popping can occure but you have to really force it.

the whole "its not a speed cube" thing is fine, its a gigaminx, not a 3x3x3. but the stickers are terrible. im glad they give you an extra set. but several fell off in the box, few more came off after wiping the lube off. and after a few solves, id say ive had to replace more than 20 individual stickers.

as soon as a sticker less version is made i will immediately order it.

like i said this puzzle just feels a little last gen.

I treated myself to this for my birthday and have no regrets! As with many twisty puzzles shipped from China, the thin lube they assemble it with tends to leak to the surface during transit conditions … knowing this, I laid each side on a paper towel when I got it out… keeping it off ones hands is critical to not working the lube under the edges of the stickers, as that is what tends to make them fall off…

Anyway, the movement of all the layers is remarkably tolerant to slight misalignments, so there is no need to rap it on the table periodically to straighten the puzzle or any such things. The only slight issue I had was the sticker alignment itself. I suspect they have a method to apply an entire side at a time, which would lead to such mistakes. Eventually I will get sick of it and re-apply the included extra set of stickers properly, but for now it’s only a minor nuisance.

I only hope that my eventual terraminx purchase works as well as this one does! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Not as good as I hoped

I own an X-Man Galaxy 2 Megaminx, which proves that the dodecahedron shape can move incredibly well. I also own a Yuxin 9x9, which shows that super large, non-WCA puzzles can have a well engineered mechanism. I was hoping the ShengShou Gigaminx would be a merger of those two qualities, but unfortunately it's just not.

Even after I loosened tensions, I still found this Gigaminx required careful hand positioning and full two hand grip to get faces rotated. Even then I found myself catching against the interior pieces often. I took my time and didn't try to speed solve it, since I enjoy casually solving large puzzles with music or TV, but even then I felt like I was getting uncomfortably close to a pop.

This is also just personal preference, but personally I feel like the color scheme is just muted and ugly, and especially does not age well next to the rest of my collection. I got mine in black to help with color identification. If I was to order again, I would get it in white instead to help make the cube feel a little brighter.

If you love collecting all sorts of puzzles like I do, there aren't that many gigaminxes on the market, so this is a good option in that regard. But if you're also like me in that you enjoy a pleasant solve, you might find yourself leaving this one on the shelf after a couple solves.

Good puzzle. Challenging, yet tedious

The quality of the puzzle is excellent. It is Luby out of the box. I have so far not had any sticker issues with either of my Shengshou puzzles. It turns easily. It is a challenging solve, but a bit tedious due to large amount of pieces to solve. I’m pleased with the puzzle and will continue buy Shengshou products.

Awesome Cube

Thankfully, as probably the only gigaminx on the market, this cube is amazing, I have had no trouble with popping or lockup’s or anything, but ofc the curse of the shengshou stickers returns with this cube, but that is to be expected with a cube of this size

A good challenge

What can I say? It's a 5x5 megaminx. I love to solve it. The only thing I don't like is the stickers. Shades are good, they just tend to fall off.
