Product Description

The DianSheng Galaxy 8x8 M (Ball-Core) is a fully magnetic 8x8 that turns great as soon as you open it! That great turning, mixed with the relatively small size of this puzzle makes it great for all cubers. Get yours today and discover the best-performing 8x8 on the market!

This puzzle has a ball core with magnets that attract to the bases of the corners. This gives a more pronounced magnetic feel when the layers align.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

The best 8x8 ever

My first 8x8 was the QiYi 8x8 and my fastest solve on it was 32 minutes. it didn't turn very good and eventually fell apart and it took 3 months to get back together because it kept exploding. Then i got the ShengShou Tank 8x8 about 6 months ago and still have it now. It turns okay but definitely not a speed cube but still better than the QiYi. I was able to get a time of 9:55 but could not get a sub 10 average. Then i got this 8x8 the DianSheng Ball-Core 8x8 M and it is the best. I smashed my pb by almost 3 minutes. I got a faster time every time i solved it. The first time i solved it i got 8:25 which was pretty good, Then i got an 8:04, Then 7:58, Then 7:53, Then 7:38, And now i finally got a sub-7 with a 6:56.315. I definitely recommend this 8x8 over any other one.

Cube

Out of the box, this cube it kinda slow and a bit stiff. After loosening it by a half turn on each side, and lubricating it, it turned great. I didn't have to think at all about aligning the cube, and the magnets are super nice. The only thing bad about it is the price. 90 something buckaroos is quite a lot. But if you bite the bullet, make the purchase, get the puzzle, you will be satisfied.

P. S. It is a complete nightmare to put back together but maybe thats just me :)

My 8x8 Galaxy Ball Core was Defective

I tried loosening the screws on all side gradually and it got a little bit better, but was still binding up. I tried loosening it up some more, but the screws were coming to the surface of the cube so I was unable to correct it anymore. So I’m sending my cube back for replacement. I hope the replacement is better.

Fantastic cube

This cube is the best 8x8 on the market currently. Out of the box the outer layers are great, the inner layers are pretty slow. It's also a little tight, but after messing with the tensions and adding some lube, it turns amazingly well. I recommend adding a fast lube of your choice (I used DNM-37). Diansheng is definitely the best non-WCA big cube manufacturer at this point!

magnets keep moving

when i got this cube it was really difficult to turn, after a bit of breaking in and some lube it felt a lot better and i really enjoyed it despite having to make sure to go pretty slow to avoid catching. considering it’s a big cube that’s not an issue. my issue is that about a week ago i had trouble turning one side and it sounded bad, like a broken piece or something, almost like cracking or popping. ended up taking it apart and found that two of the magnets on the core were moved out of their spot and on top of another piece. i pushed them back into place and rebuilt. Today it did it again. i’m not sure if the magnets are supposed to be glued into the core or if it’s a me problem, but i’m having trouble finding any info on it and not sure if i should super glue it in or what. i do really like this cube, but having to fully rebuild this cube multiple times is a massive pain. i’m usually good at rebuilding and actually enjoy it on my other cubes, this one is a different beast and takes hours.

I'm not sure if the magnets are usually glued from the factory, but gluing them now won't hurt. You can tape all of the pieces on one side togather, remove that side, and glue half of the magnets and repeat on the opposite side.
