DianSheng SMC 7x7 (56mm + Core-Magnetic)

It came VERY tight out of the box, and needed to be loosened to reach great performance. I'd say this is at least on par with the MGC, and could actually be used in competition. The smaller size is cute and M moves have never been easier on 7x7. When I was experimenting with tensions it popped but it wasn't that bad to put it back together. Love this cube.

I'm writing to follow up on my own 1 star review where I said I was unable to rotate a layer on the cube without it getting hung up. I disassembled the cube, and as I suspected, the core magnets had not been securely attached and were loose inside the cube. (See picture). This alone merits a 1 star review. Not willing to risk this from happening again, I reassembled the cube without the core magnets. It now actually performs quite well. I have no idea however, about how this cube is supposed to perform out of the box. Customer service never got back to me after I responded to their invitation to contact them.

This is my new favorite puzzle, performs remarkably well for its size!

Sure, it's cute, but it's unusable. Save your money.

This cube is fine. It's mostly just a fun product for the novelty of having such a small 7x7, but the performance isn't great. The inner layers (specifically the second layer) have way too much friction and lock up quite a bit, even after extensive setup and a decent amount of breaking in.

It's a really fun product because of the size, but if you're serious about 7x7 and looking for performance, probably best to look elsewhere.

I as well have the core magnets rolling around inside the cube. the cube kept catching to the point where It was almost easier to force the cube to the next position than to try to wiggle and coax it. I thought it was a tightness issue until loosening the cube by 1 half turn per side just made it fall apart. that's when I saw the magnets all stuck to each other. works really well without the core magnets but I'd love to see how it does with them. will be sending in a swap request.

Really an amazing puzzle, out of the box it came a bit dry and it catched quite a bit in the inner layers, but after a little lube and a little break in it started performing really well, turns nicely, never pops and it's just fun to use, the only downsize might be that since it's so small, sometimes it's hard to find pieces or you can confuse them, but overall an amazing buy

I would love if DianSheng made also 6x6 and 5x5 this size! It was a great time to solve and mess around with it

Cube is good as heck tho. Blows my ancient V-Cube 7 out of the water.

I want to start up by saying that this *had* been my favorite 7x7x7 to fiddle around with until the corner broke apart midway through scrambling it. It's not a huge deal-breaker (though it was fairly annoying to get it put back together in the correct orientation), but it's disappointing.

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I haven't had any other problems with lockups or turning (even when the corner flew apart it wasn't locking up in any way) after loosening the screws about 1/3 turn.
