Product Description

The DianSheng Galaxy Master Kilominx (Magnetic) is a high-performance, stickerless twisty puzzle that enhances the classic Kilominx design with an added layer. Equipped with magnetic positioning, the Galaxy Master Kilominx ensures smooth, precise turns and improved stability during solves. Its vibrant, stickerless design is both durable and visually striking, while its ergonomic shape makes it comfortable to handle for extended solving sessions. The added layer brings a new dimension of complexity, making it perfect for puzzle enthusiasts seeking a fresh and engaging challenge.

Note: the inner layer magnets are very light which makes turning smoother but requires careful alignment when turning. Also, the color of the internals is random and we cannot guarantee a specific color.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

A step in the right direction

This suffers from a lot of the usual issues that even-layered puzzles suffer from. OOTB, it was terrifyingly loose, and once it was tightened it is the single lockiest 'speed' puzzle that I have. The magnets are stronger in the outer layer than the inner, which is reverse from what it usually is. This undoubtedly contributes to it's locking problem. This was done because there is a very limited size of magnet that can be installed in the inner layers. The solution was not to keep small magnets in the inner layers and normal ones in the outer, but to put even smaller magnets in the outer, because having them backwards like this does not serve the puzzle's performance any good.

Minxes are my favorite style of puzzle, and this is probably the best master kilominx currently, but more innovation is needed for this puzzle. This is a step in the right direction, but there is much more work do be done.

Caught and fell apart on my first solve

This is not my first rodeo, I've had delicate non-WCA puzzles before. But this was so hyped up, I had pretty high expectations. I was turning slowly; it's a little catchy, but it's alright. The solve was going well. I was excited to figure out how parity was going to work on a minx.

But then I got a catch I couldn't quickly resolve. It turns out the core inside isn't solid, it's made of a ton of little pieces gently arranged together, and one of those pieces got out of alignment. I can't really see where it's supposed to go, but I tried to get it back into position; when I did, a larger (internal, hard to see) piece fell inside the center and disappeared, along with the one I was trying to fix.

For $42 in the year 2025, I really do expect better. I was very excited to finish my collection and this is just ... sitting in pieces on my table. It's too new even for there to be youtube videos on how to put it back together, so it's just sitting there until I have two hours to figure this out, I guess. I really can't recommend it.

Great for an even layered dodecahedron

I am always looking for good even layered puzzles, for how rattling the mechanism can make them. I will definitely wait for DianSheng to make their 6x6 and 8x8 version of the kilominx, for how good they are up until petaminx (I now own the whole lineup currently available), and how nice this Master Kilominx is to solve on. Always a good match between price and quality, a must buy if you're serious about dodecahedrons.

It's a pretty good puzzle, but not without its flaws

The puzzle turns rather well, however it's a bit catchy. It doesn't take much for it to catch, and simply turning the outer layers can misalign the inner layers. This is likely because the outer layers have stronger magnets than the inner ones, which is backwards from most larger puzzles. That said, there isn't much space to add magnets in the first place in the puzzle's inner layers, so it's impressive they managed to squeeze them into the puzzle in the first place.

Love It

When I was looking at the Diansheng Galaxy Master Kilominx I thought it would be loose and not turning as well as the other cubes. I have that are the same brand! But after I go ahead and started solving it today, it actually feels a lot better than expected. It actually does feel like the other cubes that I have! So if you want to get this cube and you need a master Kilominx for solving then go ahead and get this one because it is a great cube!

Amazing cube once properly set up

I've had this thing for a while now, and I agree with the other commenter. OOTB it was a horrible experience and I was extremely disappointed at first.

DianSheng made it difficult for themselves by going for a design without the very prominent black "star" in the middle. I prefer this design, but it's also the reason the cube performs so poorly at first, tiny magnets in the middle pieces, and the center pieces are shaped in a way that the part that extends to the middle goes over the other pieces when turning. That makes it extremely catchy and the middle layers almost always turned with the outer layers, which became annoying fast.

I played around with the screws a lot and found that just tightening the screws slightly helped the most, lubed it with Mystic and put some Compound X only between the middle layers, careful not to slow it down too much and added a touch of DNM to the outer layers.

And after a few hundred solves I can confidently say that all of the issues I had with it at first are practically gone. For an even-layered dodecahedron this is an amazing puzzle if you give it a chance.

Very disappointing

I started to scramble and tried to solve it, it suddenly popped while solving a last layer

Skip this one and get the 5x5

The Diansheng 5x5 minx is simply amazing, but the 4x4 is not. The fact that the center tiles extend almost to the center of the face means that the middle edge pieces need to be shaped like clamshells in order to accommodate the extended centerpieces as they turn. This causes a lack of support on the edge pieces, and no magnets on the center edge pieces either. The clamshell shape of the edge pieces make the turning chunky, the lack of magnets on the middle layer make the outside layer sticky, and the whole thing feels like it wants to pop. I can't recommend the 5x5 version of this cube highly enough, and if you really want a 4x4 minx, go with the ShengShou
