This is the QiYi Pentacle Cube (Lite). Each face has a star pattern on it that can be turned freely, and it can only be turned like a 3x3 when the star patterns are aligned properly. And even then you can only turn one layer at a time. This is not a puzzle for beginners. See if you have what it takes to solve this one!

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop".
This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces.
This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts
which come off can be reassembled by hand.
The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by
corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

The Pentacle Cube turns very nicely and smoothly, and has a very unique and fun design to solve, but I would just like to point out that it does have some edge pieces between the corners that are very difficult to see in the photo, but once you think you have solved it the extra bits of color on the side are difficult to ignore and somewhat annoying until you know that they exist.
It's a 3x3 with spinning dials. You can switch around the pieces on the dials. The cube feels to be of very high quality and the frosted plastic is very sturdy.
I like the concept but in order to make any 3x3 move you have to align ALL the dials, which gets really tedious really fast as most 3x3 solves involve over 100 face turns. And this prevents you from being able to use your muscle memory to use 3x3 algorithms. It is PAINFUL when you mess up the 3x3 here. This is why I prefer to just ignore the hidden edges (they're hardly visible normally anyway) and just solve it as a 2x2.
And for what they are, the dials are a little hard to spin. You need to apply a tiny bit of pressure with two fingers in order to spin the dials. They aren't easily spun with one finger, unlike the older version. This can cause a bit of cramping on the joints over time.
I think this could be a fun puzzle, but you should try to pick up the old stickered version in the domed case for the least pain.
