The cube turns well, but when you try to speedsolve it, all it does is pop. I have to reattach the edge pieces every time and it's really annoying.

This cube comes lubed I recommend it for beginners. However, corner-cutting is almost zero, and turning the top and bottom layers with a partially completed / move results in an edge piece derailing and causing a pop. Don't buy if you're looking for a competition square-1.

I've had this cube for 9 months now, and I can barely think of corner cutting/speed solving it without 2 or 3 pieces popping out. I haven't loosen it up too much, and I still get a pop every 2/3 solves. Besides that, stickers peel off easily and the yellow/wihte caps fall off nonstop.

Out of the box the cube turned slow and sluggish but after taking it apart and cleaning it out it became much faster,But there was still a problem....It popped a lot.So to fix the popping issue i took the puzzle apart and took out the spring and lubed the core with weight three and the pieces with weight one and tightened it to a decent tention and then the cube became great in fact it became my main

Pops a lot! I tried tightening the tensions but that didn't do anything, so I loosened them a lot so that when it did pop, it would be easy to fix. I heavily lubed it with Maru, and that made the turning way better. It is pretty good, though, but the caps fall off a lot, too. I would not be comfortable with using this in a competition because it pops and caps fall off a lot. I recommend getting the more promising QiYu Sq-1.

The Shengshou Square 1 is a great cube it has excellent turning and it is very buttery and extremely fast but it pops so much the caps fall off and the edges POP ALL THE TIME!and they are impossible to get back on this might not happen for you but it happens for me.

This is no doubt the best sq-1 on the market it comes prelubed with ss lube which makes it very smooth and quiet it also has very good corner cutting and pops arent occuring the only problem is dull and low quality stickers but can change them with good shades from cubicle .......my main out of the box i prefer it over the calvins or the mf8 sq 1
after doing 200 solves i just put in weight 2 and tensioned it a little bit and now its great

Sure, it's functional, but once you get into speedsolving, this cube's potential is very low. Pops when turning at a higher TPS than when casually solving. I've had to reasssemble it so many times becasue of this!
