The FangShi ShuangRen V2, "frosted blade" in Chinese, is the latest 57mm 3x3 by the Funs Puzzle manufacturer. It features a few minor improvements in design over the original FangShi ShuangRen, which has been discontinued. It is also available in Primary plastic and Primary with Black Caps.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by
corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

So I got this cube in the mail a few weeks ago and lemme tell you this cube is far better than my AoLong V1.The corner cutting out of the box was very bad but after a few hundred solves I lubed it with weight 4 and Maru on the pieces then broke that in and then this cube became a beast,I was beating my best times by 10 seconds (I average 50 seconds) which I couldn't do with my AoLong.
I'm going to keep this short, this cube is absolutely splended even right out of the box, I've owned it for around a month and the most I've really had to do was resticker it and that's only because my younger brother chipped some of the stickers, this cube is my main and I absolutely adore it!
I anticipated the arrival of this cube a lot and thought it would be really great. I was dissapointed. Out of the box I personally absolutely hated the sandy feel. It felt like a cheap cube and had lots of grime on the stickers. The stickers were not fitted for their pieces and were a terrible colour scheme. The cube does have good corner cutting and is fast but doesn't feel very good. It also had little bits of plastic sticking out of the pieces. Overall even after 30 solves this cube has not gotten any better. This is just my opinion.
The Fangshi ShuangRen is a amazing cube! Stock stickers are Fangshi shades from the factory. There is no more of the corner twisting issue but I will say that you can get some corner twists but not as easily was the original (v1). Out of the box it had frosted pieces that were textured. After 2-3 weeks of solving I can see that the textured pieces are starting to worn down. When there is the frosted pieces it's very sand but when it's worn down its smooth, I personally like the frosted pieces! The turning on this cube is super fast out of the box due to the frosted pieces. I could barely control the speed of the cube, my solution was to put some Cubicle Silicone lube weight 3 in the pieces. Corner cutting is on par with Dayan cubes, 45 degrees and reverse is just below 3/4's of a piece, although you don't really need the cube it cut 3/4's of a piece unless you have really a inaccurate turning style. Overall, I definitely recommend this cube for people who want a super fast cube. I also recommend it to people who like the v1 and will like the v2 which has less corner twists.
I wanted to like this puzzle. I tried on and off for years to like it but I just can't. I know older puzzles have their limitations, but I was able to main an Aolong V2 for months without issue, so this puzzle has no excuse.
This puzzle is very odd in it's design. The pieces are capped, which wasn't too crazy for it's time (many puzzles didn't offer stikerless variants and they were once banned), but these caps come off way too easily. There's very little clamping force actually keeping them onto the puzzle, so they pop when solving. The only benefit for this is the ability to customize the puzzle easily by swapping caps, giving you black pieces with white internals or any other combination you like. The puzzles standard sticker set is also very thin and doesn't take much effort to chip or peel, making it a somewhat high maintenance puzzle.
Turning wise, it feels good! ...To an extent, that is. The puzzle has a very unique swishy feel and sound to it, thanks in part to the frosted plastic used to make this puzzle. However, i have my gripes with the frosted plastic, like it taking longer to break in and it making the puzzle more slippery. The main issue this puzzle faces is it's abysmal corner cutting. I have this puzzle tensioned on the looser side, yet it struggles to consistently cut 45 degrees forwards and half a piece with revrse corner cutting. This, combined with the less than stellar grip, makes this puzzle very difficult to solve with. I struggle to last 10 minutes with this puzzle and I am unable to get my normal times in this puzzle.
As a collectors piece, it's a good puzzle. As a serious speedcube, it falls short in too many areas to be worthwhile. For 15 dollars (which was quite steep for a speedcube in the early/mid 2010s), this puzzle was completely outclassed by the Aolong V2. Hell, even the YJ Chilong is a better puzzle. I can actually average under 16 seconds with those two, but this one nets me an average of around 18 or 19 instead. Comparing it to the speedcubes of today would be overkill.
Have had for over a year and after breaking it in I have noticed it is not particularily good for M slices as it locks up (and pops due to my M slice violence), also I dislike the green and orange on the cube. However apart from that it is a splendid cube. I am getting a new cube which is stickerless not because of this cube being bad but because I want to have a cube with better colours.
Right out of the box this cube was great, It had corner cutting over 45 and was stable and smooth, popping is not an issue but some times the caps fall off. You would think that because of the rounded off corners it might corner twist, but even when your trying to corner twist is it takes some force. This cube has never popped on me and has been my main for over 3 years. It has a bit of a blocky feel but you get used to it. I lubed it with some maru lube and I fell in love with it. Out of the box it did not need to be tighten or loosen. The shades are very neon. I very much do recommend this cube to anybody Beginner-Pro
This was my first ever speedcube, and I LOVED IT! Later on, when I got further into cubing, I switched to a MoFang Jiaoshi MF3RS, but I soon got some Cubicle Silicone Lube and MoFang Ge lube, and I lubed both cubes with it. I soon switched back to this, and I dropped my average by about 7 seconds!
When i first got this cube i was very impressed with the turning, but the stickers were not that great. But then after a couple solves i quickly started to notice that the caps fell of a LOT. I don't know if this is just my cube but caps fell off literally every solve. So i tried super gluing them on snd it worked, unfortunately i got some on the pieces making the turning very bad. This would've been a great cube if it weren't for the caps.
I recently got this cube and it turned great out of the box, but even after breaking in, it has this sandy, scratchy feeling which I couldn't get rid of without lubricant, however, it is just amazing, corner cutting is perfect, tensions out of the box were a little too loose for my liking but it is amazing, and the primary with black caps looks amazing in person, somehow it actually improved my color recognition and lookahead during F2L which is amazing. The stickers on it are pretty good, the only color I don't think is as good as the others is the orange, it's a pale orange but its good nevertheless.
