Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

A big step up

This cube is a huge step up from my Angstrom MGC. I was using that puzzle for almost a year and a half, and towards the end of that time that cube really started to die on me. I couldn’t fins a good setup even after wiping out the cube numerous times and using almost every premium lube TheCubicle offers. After doing horribly at a recent competition, I figured it was time for a new one.

Out of the box, the outermost layers were fast and the inners were super slow (as expected) but the feeling was one that I could tell I already preferred over the MGC. There was also a good amount of sandyness, which along with the snow feeling left me wondering if I should add a drop or two or DNM into the puzzle. However, after doing only 5 or so solves, the cube reached amazing speeds and the sandy feel already went away.

One thing that differs the puzzle from the MGC is the stability. The MGC is known for being the fastest 6x6, but also the least stable. Compared to my MGC, this cube offers higher levels of speed, but is exponentially more stable. Since receiving the puzzle I’ve done about 150 solves, and I’ve had 3-4 lockups and only one pop. This is something I had to work around with the MGC - I knew the stability (or lack thereof) of the puzzle was holding me back, and it left me waiting for a better 6x6 to come along. The medium-strength magnets combined with the mechanism of the Angstrom Aoshi WRM mean I can turn as fast as I want and not have to worry about lockups - something most people haven’t been able to say about 6x6 hardware pretty much ever.

As someone with smaller hands, the reduced size of the puzzle compared to the MGC means I can do longer sessions and not feel fatigued. In addition, the Angstrom setup adds a smooth feeling with even more speed, meaning I can have fun doing 6x6 for the first time in a while.

The only nitpick I have with the puzzle is the shades. The green is significantly darker than that of the MGC, and while I haven’t been a huge fan of the shade choices MoYu has made recently, it doesn’t make enough of a difference to impact my solves in a large way.

The Angstrom Aoshi WRM has taken the spot for the best 6x6 on the market by a landslide. It’s the first major 6x6 release in years, and one that I think many solvers will enjoy. I still think the MGC is a good puzzle, and the MGC may still be the choice for those on a tighter budget, but if you can manage it, I highly recommend this puzzle. Since getting it, I’ve gotten my first sub-2 single and mean, and could not be happier with my purchase.

Save Time - Buy this 6x6!

Before purchasing, my research pointed to the consensus that the MoYu AoShi is the best 6x6. But you might be wondering, like me, is it worth the price point? I started with the MGC 6x6; it is a good budget option, but I'm not an expert at setting up cubes so it performed sub-optimally. After switching my 4x4 to the AoShi, MoYu had gained my trust, and so I took the leap. I wish I had started with the AoShi, so please do what I should have done...start with this cube.

Pros:
- Solid construction and materials
- Angstrom Setup - professional setup cannot be beat
- Very stable feel but with smooth turning
- Lighter and smaller than the MGC (235g/63mm vs. 315g/65mm) [This made for much longer practice sessions for me.]

Cons:
- Price point - it is a higher end cube; the MGC is a serviceable alternative, but if you eventually want to go deeper into 6x6, you will buy this cube anyways
- Matte plastic - personally, I have no issue with the plastic, but it's a matter of personal preference
- You do have to be patient in breaking the cube in. It took maybe 10 or 20 solves to begin to break in the cube. The middle slices were especially difficult to move with parity algs being almost impossible. Once it broke in though, the turning, as on all Angstrom puzzles, is very smooth and fast.

Better than the MGC

I got the angstrom one because the stock version was out of stock. After just a couple hours, this cube had broken in so well. Totally recommend.

Fantastic cube!

My first 6x6 and I love it! Incredibly smooth with crisp clicking magnets right out of the box, no need for breaking in at all. Even 3-wide slices hold together nicely, for instance during free slicing for edges and OLL and PLL parity. Very fast. Tolerates even my sloppiest corner cuts and about 100 solves in so far no pops. Though I admit I have no other 6x6 to compare this one to, I find it at least as good if not better than my YJ MGC 5x5 and YJ MGC 7x7 which I use practically every day. Highly recommend this cube!

Easily the best 6x6 I’ve touched

For the last two years I’ve been using the mgc 6x6. Idk why but I hated it and in turn, the event. I couldn’t do I single solve without atleast 1 or 2 pops. I finally decided I’m done with the mgc and bought this. I can pretty much go as fast as I want with no stability issues. I’ve done around 100 solves and have only had one pop which was a center piece while on 3x3 stage. On the mgc if I tried to continue it would’ve exploded but on this one I decided to push it and kept going with a center piece gone. It passed with flying colors, not even slowing down a bit and not exploding all over my desk. I really enjoy this cube and and really starting to like 6x6 because of it.

Best 6x6

Best 6x6 ever, out layers are fast and the inner layers are smooth and the magnet strength is perfect imo. The lube setup is great and makes the cube so much more controllable and smooth

Good Cube, But a Bit Dry

Mine is kind of dry and was badly tensioned, but I retensioned it and it's decent now. I get good times on it though.

Great Puzzle

Can't go wrong with an angstrom puzzle. The cube is a bit too fast for me (or I probably just need to break in the matte plastic), but other than that it is the best 6x6 with one of the best set ups around.
