Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

Aweful

Two pieces fell out during scrambling. When I try to put it back together, the whole thing fell apart. At least one hundred individual parts fell out. None of the parts were broken, but unlike the 3x3, it’s almost impossible to put it back together. Will not recommend.

Thanks for your review of the DianSheng 6x6 M, and I am sorry to hear that it fell apart! While I admit that it won't be easy to assemble it, this video, specifically around the 18-minute mark, may be helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJmnIIAhZmc

Smooth fast turning a bit catchy

Decent 6x6, turning is quite nice and easy but magnet strength could be better, layers misalign and catch somewhat during solves, better than the Yushi v2m but not as good as the Shadow M v1&2 or MGC6

Good cube

Really like diansheng's big magnetic cubes. Their 7x7 is my fav cube and this 6x6 is a close second. For 3x3 my fav is probably a moyu but am looking forward to diansheng's solar s 3x3 m.

Great Economy 6x6, Just Shy of Pro Performance

I bought the Diansheng 6x6M pretty much immediately after it was announced, hoping to find something to replace my Yuxin Little Magic 6x6M, which has been my main for approximately 10 months.

Out of the Box, this cube has the lightest turning of any 6x6 on the market. Absolutely astounding that the cube can turn with so little resistance on all layers while being one of the highest order WCA Puzzles.

This works perfectly while solving centers, which comprises the bulk of your solving time, and I throughly enjoy that leg of all of my solves.

However, this in conjunction with its medium-weak magnets, makes the cube lockup with annoying consistency during LL of the 3x3 stage - which is the exact reason I wanted it to replace my Little Magic. There’s been numerous times I’ve almost broken the 3-minute barrier on this cube, and every single time without fail a last layer lockup would dash my hopes and land me somewhere in the 3:01-3:09 range, depending on the severity of the lockup.

Outside of that, other small annoyances are:

A) The cube’s green side is unexpectedly dark, which leads to lower contrast and poor recognition in sub-par lighting conditions, and

B) The frosted plastic (that’s becoming the industry standard for some unknown reason) has shown no signs of smoothing to a glossy finish like GAN puzzles or the RS3M 2020. For reference, I’ve solved it 10-15 times per day since it arrived about a week ago.

If this is your first 6x6, or even your first magnetic 6x6, I have no doubt you’ll be pleased with this $20 purchase. If you’re more experienced in the event (around the sub-2:40 range or so) - this cube is a novelty at best and a hinderance at worst.

In any circumstance, you’re most likely better off shelling out the extra $5 or so for the MGC, which I’m also likely to do within the next few weeks.
