Product Description

The DaYan 16-Axis Hexadecagon is a 16 sided puzzle that features four hexagons and twelve pentagons. This puzzle acts as a type of jumbling, bandaged puzzle due to the fact that you cannon put certain edges from a pentagonal face onto the hexagonal ones.

Can’t turn

I think this is the worst turning puzzle I have ever had. The side pieces do not match in size, so when mixed it is next to impossible to turn. I have the stickerless one so I am not sure if the sticker one is better, but I would not buy this cube.

Dayan - Terrible Color Scheme!

This puzzle doesn’t bandage. It’s important to know what consists of an illegal and a legal turn. I’ve been stuck on the last layer for a while and figured out that it’s not solvable since I end up with only two single hexagonal and 2 single pentagonal centers to be swapped which isn’t possible. I’ll have to try to find another piece to swap it with but the problem is that all the colors are the same on so many different pieces it’s impossible to know which one goes where thanks to the sticker pattern.

Misalignment and shades

I was very excited to see a hexadodecagonal puzzle show up. I was thinking it would be like a megaminx, but with an extra challenge. I purchased the stickerless version. What I realized when I received the puzzle (though this is my own fault for not looking more closely when I saw the puzzle online) is that there are only four colors. I was expecting for each side to have it's own color, and I think it would be a much more fun puzzle. The second thing I found was that when you turn the pentagonal sides then attempt to turn a hexagonal side adjacent to it, it seems misaligned. It seems like the geometry of a hexadodecagonal puzzle doesn't allow more than one turn. When I've done a few turns then attempt to return it to it's solved state, most of the time I feel like I'm going to pop a piece or break the puzzle because the pieces are misaligned. Again, it is stated in the description that it bandages and you put pentagonal pieces onto hexagonal ones, so I feel as if I'm to blame for purchasing before reading the description thoroughly. The puzzle is very aesthetic and I think it's a cool concept nonetheless. The sides that you can turn without bandaging turn very well. I plan to give this puzzle more of a shot when I have more time to play with it.
