The GAN 356 M (Niu Edition) is a special edition version of the GAN 356 M. This limited edition puzzle was made to celebrate the lunar Year of the Ox. It features red internals, a festive sticker set with graphics that celebrate the Year of the Ox, and a stylized lunar new year design on the box.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.
The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

I was disappointed to find that a Limited Edition cube based primarily on artistic design came with stickers for the artistic design - even though under Options>Selected it says "stickerless." I even returned the first delivery for an exchange after I opened the box and saw all white squares, not realizing that the lunar year of the Ox art could be found on a set of stickers deeper within the box.
So I guess the issues are (1) was this miscommunicated, and (2) is this right?
With regard to (1) I do NOT think it was miscommunicated by Cubicle because upon further inspection within the "product description" it states, "features . . . .a festive sticker set." With regard to calling it stickerless, I think that is easily misinterpreted, but it is meant to refer to the colored blocks which are stickerless.
With regard to (2) I do not think it is right. I think it is cheap to introduce a "special edition" cube that simply contains a set of stickers, and it weakens the collectability of the cube. I would have liked to have seen GAN manufacture the parts with the artwork printed on them.
Furthermore, the stickers are very difficult to remove from the paper backing - many of them did not want to come off at all without peeling the paper up with it. There are no "tabs" attached to the stickers to put your fingers on so that your fingerprints are kept off of the stickers. Keep in mind that these stickers are transparent with red print. Think of a screen protector for your smartphone, if you've ever installed one. They come with alcohol pads to remove any grease and stains (this cube did not contain any alcohol pads and came with oil on the white surfaces), sticky paper to remove any fine lint from the surface, and then the adhesive protector itself has tabs to hold onto so that you can apply the screen/sticker without touching the transparent item that will be stuck to your phone (in this case cube). I do not think that any attention to detail was spent by GAN on applying transparent stickers to a white background and to making the stickers easily removable without pulling up paper.
I bought this primarily for the artwork and collectability and I am very disappointed that GAN did not manufacture the parts with the artwork printed on them and did not market a quality sticker application system.
The red internals are super cool and the cube is so much smoother and faster than any of my other 3x3s. GAN demands a price but this was super worth it. So glad to get one of these limited editions.
very nice colors, red internals, symbolic stickers, looks fantastic. surely a good cube too, but i will not use it for active cubing, its too beautiful for that.
This is a good cube for any collection, and it makes me want to have a non limited edition GAN cube for a main.
This cube is the GAN 356 X just without customizable magnets and with red internals, and I love it. The magnets are strong which I prefer so I got this and refunded the XS because the XS is too unstable has way too much spring noise. I love this cube because it's simple and minimalistic, and the feel is papery and tactile (rough but smooth, blocky). Why spend 60 dollars on a cube (50 now) so you can change the magnets if you could get the same cube for 33 dollars and not change them? The magnets on this are perfect for me so spending twice the amount for a option I will never use is pointless. This is better than the XS,
This a beautiful cube, it was really fast and smooth out of the box. In the box it came with Ges nuts and application tape to apply the stickers. I would highly recommend this cube especially if you were born in the year of the ox.
This cube has the IT factor. Smooth fast and stable with absolutely beautiful red internals.
First, it’s a really fast cube and good looking. It’s my main, it’s super unique and just the red internals alone looks awesome. I also thank the cubicle for applying the festive stickers on mine, which was really nice since I didn’t want to mess up such a good looking cube.
I'm a sucker for anything GAN, so I naturally had to have this special edition. Out of my XS's, 11M (UV) and this 356M, the 356M is my go to. After using this as my main for about a week, I purchased a second one to leave in the box until this one dies of old age, lol. Looking at the review section, i'm not the only customer to need 2. Highly recommend this cube, it has all the smoothness you could ever want.
