Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Looks great as a paperweight.

Difficulty: 5/10
Playability: 2/10
Quality: 6/10

OVERVIEW: The Gear Pyraminx looks great, without a doubt. However, a level of turning quality was sacrificed that for me, personally, makes it not worth playing with. I was able to come up with a simple algorithm to turn individual edges that was a modification of the Sledgehammer algorithm. However, the final two edges were very challenging, and every time I was testing approaches, the cube locked up or skipped gears! I lost motivation, and so far, haven't even solved it.

PROS: Cool look, unique challenge.
CONS: Difficulty to pick up and play with. Turning requires an awkward hold of the puzzle.

Not good in my opinion

This might just be me, but my pyraminx turns awful, one of the edge caps keeps popping off, one of the centers keeps moving when its not supposed too, and also one of center caps also keeps popping off.

Good puzzle

Its a good puzzle the only problem is that sometimes the gears skip also pretty challenging to solve I like it

bad turning, gear skips, pops.

this is one of those puzzles that get's too frustrating to solve just because of its bad mechanics. but not just just one, THE ONE.
i have solved it but then noticed the centers don't align no matter what then realized it skipped gears and after that time it popped many times when i tried to solve it again and the rage quit took it apart and re assembled it.
tried again today after some long while and it pissed me off so much i trashed it,

A fun gear puzzle

It's a fun puzzle, and the transparent version is beautiful. The turn is decent for a gear cube (obviously not comparable to a speedcube), and the puzzle is fairly easy to solve, but the concept is really entertaining. The turning is good, just be careful to grab it correctly to not get your fingers caught. The plastic feels good quality.

Awesome Puzzle!

The QiYi gear pyraminx is a really fun and challenging non-WCA puzzle. The quality of the puzzle is very nice, and the tiled pieces give it a nice finish. However, I believe that this puzzle is a gear Halpern-Meier Pyramid, and not a gear pyraminx. Overall though, this puzzle has a challenging solve and nice quality for a relatively low price.

Not great

It is a challenging puzzle but I have been extremely careful with the turning and making sure everything is alright but I still got a lock up and pop on it.

Gearaminx

It's a jing's pyraminx but with gears. It shapeshifts a lot and looks epic when scrambled. You won't have any pops or gear skips if you always check to make sure the small center dots are aligned before you continue turning on another axis.

It isn't that hard to solve. The worst you can encounter is a parity issue with one flipped edge, but that's something you just need to problem-solve around.

And like on a 2x2 gear cube, you can do a satisfying move where you grip opposite gears and spin. Everything on the cube rotates simultaneously. You can even use this move to your advantage during the solve.

The main issue I have with the puzzle is that the sharp edges of the gear edges stick out a little too far when scrambled and thus make the solve rather uncomfortable on the fingers. Combined with the slow and resistive turning, it's quite the workout for your fingers.

Despite this, I personally think it's a really cool puzzle. I don't agree with the low average rating it got and would certainly recommend it to anyone who loves gear cubes.
