DaYan Megaminx V2 M

I own 13 Megaminx's (yes I may have a problem) but only a few of them have truly impressed me, the Dayan Megaminx v2 is one of them. It's practically the same exact 'minx as the Gan, at half the price. Within seconds of taking it out of the box my immediate thought was, "This feels exactly like the Gan"... the crisp smooth turning, the weight, the size, even the colors, are nearly identical to the Gan, you actually have to look for differences. Side by side the colors seem identical as well. It's an amazing Megaminx.

If you want the Gan but don't want to pay the Gan price, this is the exact cube you're looking for. I don't think I could feel a difference between them blindfolded, they're that similar. Don't even give it a second thought; buy it!

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this 'minx. It has all of the best features of the flagships: The lightness of the GAN (it may actually be lighter), the size of the MoYa AoHun, the glossy plastic of the X-Man Galaxy, the vibrant colors of a Cyclone Boys, and both shallow dimples and ridges for grip. The turning is smooth, the magnets are snappy... it's as if Dayan has taken all of the best attributes of the megaminx and distilled them into this puzzle.

First off, let me say, I would have picked 4.5 stars if I could have. This megaminx is one of a kind. It's light, fast, smooth, and small. I did a lot of research before buying a megaminx(this is my first magnetic one) and from what I could tell, this was basically a GAN Megaminx for half the price. So I went with this one. It might be a little more pricey than some others, but I'm sure it's worth it. It even has a golden Dayan sticker(idk why it's black in the picture). I also tried a friend's GAN Megaminx, and in my opinion, this one was definitely better. I only held it for a few seconds, but that was all I needed. This one has brighter colors, invisible magents, is less clicky, and is smaller. There is only one downside(reason it's 4 stars not 5) and that is sometimes the pieces become a little disconnected(see picture) and you have to push them back together, but mine might just be a little defective. This doesn't affect performance, but it is a little annoying. My point about this megaminx is, if you are debating what megaminx to get and you have the money, or are saving the money for this, absolutely get it. 100%. It is better than the GAN, and half the price. 9.5/10 awesome and I would recommend to anyone.

I waited eagerly for the arrival of this puzzle, praying it would arrive speedily. An angelic choir announced its arrival. I hurried to open the door and I picked up the package with awe filled reverence, opening it carefully and with anticipation. Nothing could’ve prepared me for its glory. I basked in its holy radiance, achieving new levels of enlightenment before even turning it. Turning it accomplished the task it chose me for, filling me with the unspeakably wonderful secrets of the universe, but my mortal body could not take such glory and rapturous knowledge, and it burned away, catching up my soul to the heavens, from which I was sent to write this before departing to my rest. 10/10 would recommend, wish I would’ve bought sooner

I am absolutely in love with the Dayan Megaminx V2 M! This cube has replaced my YuHu V2 M by a landslide. I'm able to get more consistent times, and I feel better after every solve because of its light weight and feel. The megaminx has strong magnets which allow for a clicky feel when turning it. The cube is WAY smaller than my YuHu and is under 100 grams, which helps with longer solving sessions. It feels as if the Galaxy V2 and the YuHu V2 had a baby and produced this cube to be lighter and very fast. The cube has ridges, which aren't noticeable at all during the cube, despite this, I haven't got any cube drops. My times currently are in the 1:15 range, and this megaminx has gave me more motivation than ever to practice! Overall, if you have smaller hands, like me or are just looking to get a top of the line megaminx in 2021, the Dayan Megaminx V2 M is 100% for you! Finally a moderately cheap, small, and fast megaminx!!! The galaxies (both v1 and v2) were too slow, the gan was TOOO expensive, and the yuhu was too big. Performance on this cube is really good. If you want a fast megaminx, GET THIS ONE!!! If you want a slow one, (IDK why someone would want that nowadays) just get the Galaxy v2. 100% recommend this Dayan Mega.

I average sub-40 and this megaminx is my main. I have no real complaints about it, just be aware that it's pretty small at the same size as the galaxy v2. Also, be sure you buy the black pieces to replace grey!

So small but can turn very fast

Great Megaminx, super light super fast. This was my first megaminx and it did a fantastic job of introducing me to the puzzle. I did add a little weight 5 to slow it down a bit. Turn-feel is great and smooth out of the box.

I enjoyed this megaminx so much I ordered a YJ MGC megaminx as well, mostly because I have a lot of MGC big cubes and wanted to add to the collection, and man now I get why people think this is so light and small. Don't get me wrong, the MGC is a fine puzzle, but the dayan is just sooo much better for me. I personally prefer the look of the concave design on the dayan so much more, and the MGC does have some big old ridges that make it easier to hold and turn, but to me the fact that the Dayan is so light weight more than makes it the easier cube to hold overall.

If I had one gripe at all its that the magnets are moderate and I usually prefer strong, but I am a casual solver not a speed solver and I'm sure the magnet strength is best suited for the majority of people so I still give it a 5* rating. I also bought the black pieces, and replaced the grey, then moved grey to tan. Easy enough disassembly and reassembly as long as you have taken apart a 3x3 before. The colors are fantastic, particularly the normal 3x3 colors.

My first megaminx but I fell in love it! Buy it!
