Product Description

The CubeTwist Bandaged 3x3 DIY Kit features a non-tiled CubeTwist 3x3 with a full set of special colored tiles that are designed to latch onto the cube. The tiles can be latched onto the cube in any pattern to design just about any kind of bandaged 3x3, which is a normal 3x3 that has its movement restricted based on how the tiles are arranged.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Easy to take apart after sanding underneath the corners

The puzzle is very good. The well known issue of tiles being hard to remove can be easily solved: sand every tile underneath the corners using a fine sandpaper while being careful not to sand the parts which inserts into the cube. You need to sand just a little bit, enough to be able to insert something underneath the corner to remove the tile.

For the 3x1 and 3x2 tiles you also need to sand the long edges because it makes easier to separate them from the center caps of the cube.

The whole sanding job took less than 30 minutes and the tiles are very easy to remove using any sharp plastic object (like a sticker removal razor).

Great Puzzle, But...

This cube turns surprising well and comes with enough pieces to make at least 3 different bandage cubes as well as a regular 3x3. The only issue is that the pieces fit so closely to the puzzle that they are VERY difficult to remove and swap out. If the pieces had a notch in them near the base, it would make them easier to remove.

Missing Parts??

Overall Quality Is Good And Tiles ARE Hard To Get Off, But Not Too Bad. My Biggest Issue, Im Missing 3 Parts. Theres Supposed To Be 6 2x2 Tiles, I Only Have 4, And 6 2x3 Tiles As well, Only Have 5. But Other Than A Minor Mistake I Think Its a Great cube! And It Didnt Come With The Stand, Which Is Pictured, But Im Not Sure If Included.

Great puzzle!

This is a great puzzle! You can make any puzzle you want. It turns very well. The pieces go on very easily. I use an eyeglass screwdriver to remove the pieces and that works very well. The only complaint I would have is that many of the pieces have little spurs on them. You don't need to cut them off, but they are a bit of an eye sore. That aside, I highly recommend this puzzle.

Great puzzle!

The puzzle turns really well (though not a speedcube), seems very good in quality, and the tiles stay attached firmly.

Great Multi Purpose Cube, Hard to Take Apart

This puzzle is very good. It turns well and I can experiment with a large amount of 3x3 bandage variations without having to buy a mass produced version or make my own. I have solved this now once and have made a new puzzle. Getting the tiles back off of the puzzles was very difficult, but I found an easier way. If you take apart the 3x3, like any old 3x3 cube, all the pieces have a cap on the inside. I removed these caps and pushed the tiles of through the inside of the pieces with a small screwdriver. I attempted the floss idea posted by Zach Waycott, but i wasn't able to get the floss underneath the piece, maybe i need to use different floss. If anyone else who buys this cube is having trouble definitely try taking the caps off all the pieces. This made it 100x faster and easier for me to remover the very hard to grip tiles. Great puzzle otherwise, I can wait to solve this a few more times and look forward to thinking of new bandage puzzles.

Good choice for bandaged 3x3x3

You can make many bandage configurations using the included tiles. Also, 3x3x3 cube itself is good enough to play. It is really good option to experience the bandaged 3x3x3, especially, who can't make or purchase not-mass-produced puzzles. I really wish the manufacturer would make other kits for 4x4x4 or 5x5x5. My only complaint is that the tiles are really hard to remove. There is no grip or gap to pinch the tiles. Also, the tools to remove tiles make damage to the tiles sometime. Don't use your nail to remove the tiles, because it will hurt you.

Pretty Awesome

Pros:
Turns well
Colors are great
Love the tile textures
Super fun to try different random configurations

Cons:
Only one con, the tiles are hard to get off... the solution I found was to use a flosser.

Overall I've really enjoyed mine and I highly recommend for the price.

excellent cube, lots of value

This kit is very well made, in fact I like this cube on its own. Turns great, a little lubicle silk and it’s buttery. Nice blocky feel to it and I love the feel of the tiled faces. There is a pretty thorough set of tiles for this cube and it is very fun to set up some bandaging and try to figure out how to solve it, then switch it up and try again. You’ll get tons of play value from it you can construct training cubes with it, if you have a 3d printer you can make custom extensions to it.
It’s an excellent value. I wish I had bought 2 of them!

As others have mentioned it is tougher to change the tiles than I'd like, but that's picking nits.

Great puzzle with a few issues

This cube actually turns pretty fast, but does lack corner cutting. It's packaging left much to be desired (shabby-looking box and tiles separate in taped-up plastic bags), but it serves its purpose well as a DIY bandaged cube. The biggest issue I had was this: the tiles are nearly impossible to remove once they're put on. Definitely sand down the corners of each tile!!! Overall, I would recommend this puzzle, just make sure you're ready for a bit of extra work before you can use it optimally.
