Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

Needs lube ootb but is a fun little puzzle. Also is a good intro to megaminx without the edges it is easier and may be more fun for a beginner to start with this and then learn megaminx. It has very little corner cutting and can be a bit annoying to have to realign faces to complete solves
This Moyu kilominx is something quite special if you are willing to put in the time and effort. Upon disassembling the puzzle, I found that every single piece was completely bone dry. Why MoFang JiaoShi (Moyu) decided to do this, I'll never know. My next complaint comes from the screw types. The heads of these screws are slightly larger than a normal moyu puzzle. If you use one of the Moyu screw drivers to try to loosen them then you might end up stripping the screws (They also happen to be very tight and hard to move). Luckily, I had a proper screw driver and I was able to get this thing apart without much problem. And from there is actually where the final complaint comes in for this puzzle; its tensions are all very tight out of the box which leads to numerous catches. All of these issues can be overcome with a little elbow grease. I took the time to loosen all of the screws a few turns and I made sure that they were all about the same upon inspection. I also added some Weight 5 to the screws and the springs to make sure that the core was properly lubed. I then was able to reassemble the puzzle and add a bit of mystic, silk and DMN lube on a couple of the pieces.
After break in I was pretty impressed. This Kilominx is as good as it can be without magnets, that is to say that it will still catch a little bit if the layers are misaligned but other then that small complaint, the puzzle turns as good as any mid tier megaminx. If you have this puzzle or are looking for a good kilominx and are not afraid to get your hands a little dirty, then I highly recommend you take a shot at setting one up for yourself. I do hope one day that Moyu decides to make a magnetic variant and until then I may just try to add magnets to this thing myself.
IT IS THE BEST KILOMINX OUT THERE BUT IT FEELS REAALY STIFF AT FIRST IT NEED SOME BREAKING IN. IT IS A REALLY FUN PUZZLE. I HOPE ONE DAY THAY MAKE A MAGNETIC KILOMINX.
PS; BUY IT IN STICKERLESS PLASTIC IT IS BETER.
IT ONLY COMES IN STICKERLESS PLASTIC, LOL.
So OOTB it was sandy but smooth, it had a bit of spring noise, which was disappointing. It catches a lot too and there is barely any corner cutting. But I do really like the shades and it is good for its price so overall pretty good!
So I've got the ShengShou, but I really stickerless and I really wanted the ridges. However, yeah.. catching is really bad on this. I was on my way to break a PB and it caught during OLL and then caught again during PLL and I just lost it.
I also had plans to magnetize this. The way it's build... I think it's out of the question for this guy. You really can't take the edges apart or get magnets in a spot where they'll align to magnets on the corners. I even looked at adding the magnets to the core and edges which might have worked as well... it's just all around a no go.
It's sad, cause I do really like the subtle ridges... I think these are perfect. The shades look great to me. The feel good... just everything below the surface pretty much sucks.
Overall the cube is good. It turns smoothly even without lube. The colors are really nice and it has a nice grip. My only complaint is that it catches a lot and the revers corner cutting is really bad. I'm sure you can fix this with modding but if you don't want to mess around with your cube that much then take that into consideration. But if you're just looking for a kilominx and you don't plan to become that fast at it then the cube is really good.
this dodecahedron is a lower quality, cheaper version of the shengshou kilominx. if you aren't looking for an incredible puzzle, or you don't have the budget for a shengshou, this puzzle is a 5/5. otherwise, just buy a shengshou kilominx
in many ways it is like the moyu mastermorphix. its base mechanism is faster and arguably smoother than corresponding puzzles from other brands, but has zero corner cutting out of the box due to the squared off pieces. like i did with the morphix i sanded them down a lot (including the hidden edges) and it now turns great
I was disappointed with this cube when I first opened it up. The turning was scratchy and sluggish, and there was a ton of catching. I loosened the tensions and lubed the core and the pieces, which helped with the turning, but the catching persisted. The one thing I do like about this cube is the ridges and the vibrant stickerless shades. Other than that, I can't recommend it because of the catching. Get the Shengshou Kilominx instead.
Sandy out of the box but once broke in smooth. Very unstable, but it does not matter bc you do not need to speed solve. Overall pretty good.
