ShengShou Examinx

I wrote a review four times already but I guess it did not go through for some reason, I have been twisting this and creating all kinds of algorithms ever since I purchased this beautiful puzzle! I am happy with the mechanical operation of it and I am also happy that it is stickerless because it is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye and it looks like a splash of colors when scrambled. I have no complaints about it and I might even buy a second one just to put on display despite the price at the moment. 2021 goal is to scramble in 300+ rotations and do a reversal.

I am a big puzzle collector. I have every Minx+ puzzle and I was very excited to see the mass production of an Examinx meet the market. I purchased it without thought.

On arrival, it is exactly the same size as the Mf8 Petaminx. Yes that is right, it is the same size as the puzzle below it on the Minx+ pyramid. The producer decided to downsize the pieces to make it more handable for solving. I personally enjoy bigger puzzles so if you are looking for something that stands out, go for the Petaminx. The puzzle is also stickerless. I much rather a stickered puzzle but I can understand that will add to the already hefty price tag. I still do not see why they can't make a black puzzle and include the stickers for you to hand apply.

My main concern the sturdiness of the puzzle. I know as puzzles get bigger they become more and more of a hazard when solving. But this puzzle, without touching, looks like internal pieces are broken. The edge or face layers have big gaps in between certain pieces and I do not prefer this look.

Overall, if you are wanting a big puzzle and don't care about collections, go for the Petaminx. If you want to fulfill your Minx collection, go ahead. This puzzle should be for the most serious of collectors as its flaws outweigh its positives.

My plans with the puzzle are to disassemble, dye the pieces black and sticker it myself.

The cube is a good one but starting out the cube is hard to move, after a little while of solving, turning does get better though

This puzzle is very good. The turning is manageable for such a big puzzle. I wish they made all of there other puzzles in stickerless. They would fly off the shelves.

cornercuts very well, looks cool, and i even got sub 1 on my solve! sub 1 week!!! i even bought one for my 172 year old grandpa! i think it could be better with lube and magnets, but it would take a lot of lube. I'll just stick with it how it is though

I just received this a week ago and I am still just practicing getting the cube loosened up, I almost don't want to scramble it because of its beauty but I am ready! I know I'll never be the next Simon Shi but I will be content creating hundreds of algorithms from just this one alone! Worth every penny! It is actually very smooth in movement as long as you keep every other face lined up perfectly, it is not built for extreme speed, but if you are dexterous enough and don't have arthritis like I do, you will indeed be able to zip through this and all of the layers.

I think that this puzzle is really nice. Honestly, who CARES that it should come in stickered. I got it done in 24 hours. I calculated, And I'm really happy. This is a really great puzzle.

I received this yesterday, December 30th, 2020 and at 6 inches in diameter and 2 pounds 10 oz., it is pure adrenaline! I just unwrapped it and I feel-bad scrambling it, but I am so happy that it is stickerless because this will last for the rest of my life! I may buy a second one just to put on showcase!👍⚡

This is a wonderful cube. The action was great! No lube or adjustments required at all. And thank god it was stickerless!

This is the HARDEST puzzle in the world! I can´t believe that!
