Cubicle Custom Options

Core Lube 

Core lube is intended to give your hardware longevity as well as reduce friction between the spring, screw, and center pieces.

  • Lubicle Black - Lubicle Black is a thick but low friction metal-based lubricant. Designed especially for metal-to-metal and metal-to-plastic contact, Lubicle Black is ideal for lubing the core and hardware of your puzzles.
  • Cubicle Silicone Light - Cubicle Silicone Light is our in-house silicone based lubricant which provides a fluid and easy-to-start turning for your puzzle. This option is analogous to Cubicle Weight 1-2.
  • Cubicle Silicone Medium - Cubicle Silicone Medium is our in-house silicone based lubricant which provides a balanced feel of speed and control for your puzzle. This option is analogous to Cubicle Weight 3.
  • Cubicle Silicone Heavy - Cubicle Silicone Heavy is our in-house silicone based lubricant which provides a controlled feel for your puzzle. This option is analogous to Cubicle Weight 5.
  • Traxxas 10k - Traxxas 10k is a branded silicone based oil which provides a lighter, more fluid feel in the core when turning.
  • Traxxas 30k - Traxxas 30k is a branded silicone based oil which provides a balanced feel of control and speed in the core.
  • Traxxas 50k - Traxxas 50k is a branded silicone based oil which provides a heavy, controllable feeling.
  • Cubicle Labs Silk - Cubicle Labs Silk is an in-house premium lubricant which adds softness and a plush feeling to the core, eliminating the dragging feeling without compromising control.

    Piece Lube

    Piece lube is intended to reduce friction between the pieces, improve performance, and give your puzzle the specific feel that you prefer.

    Light Lubes
    • DNM-37 - DNM-37 is a water-based piece lube that creates a refreshing and lasting burst of speed for your puzzles. This lube is specially formulated to absorb and retain moisture from the air, which allows it to remain effective for a long period of time.
    • Compound V - Compound V is a water-based lube designed to speed puzzles up. Compound V boasts greater water-retention, higher viscosity, and unique cohesion qualities to give your puzzles a lasting and refreshing burst of speed.
    • Lubicle Speedy - Lubicle Speedy is a lighter variant of Lubicle that will enhance the speed of your cube while keeping it smooth.
    • Cubicle Silicone Light - Cubicle Silicone Light is our in-house silicone based lubricant which provides a fluid and easy-to-start turning for your puzzle. This option is analogous to Cubicle Weight 1-2.
    • Lubicle 1 - Lubicle 1 is a multi-part, silicone-based teflon lubricant. By combining the extremely low viscosity of azeotropic siloxane ethers with the unique feel of teflon, Lubicle 1 provides an optimal combination of speed and control.
    • Mystic - Cubicle Labs Mystic is the world's first plant based cube lubricant. Utilizing the unique lubricity of aloe, Mystic creates a lively and quick experience that you can see, feel, and hear.  This lube combines well with DNM-37.

      Medium Lubes
      • Angstrom Dignitas - Angstrom Dignitas is a medium viscosity silicone lube that utilizes micro-scale nitride to achieve the perfect balance between speed and smoothness. Dignitas is designed to be long lasting, and retains speed and smoothness longer than traditional unmodified fast silicones.
        • Cubicle Labs Silk - Cubicle Labs Silk is a reformulated version of Lubicle Silk, specifically designed to give the same exact plush, smooth feel.
          • Cubicle Silicone Medium - Cubicle Silicone Medium is our in-house silicone based lubricant which provides a balanced feel of speed and control for your puzzle. This option is analogous to Cubicle Weight 3.
            • Lubicle Standard - Lubicle Standard is our premium, multipurpose lube mixture. It is designed to give your cube a powerful yet balanced boost in both mobility and control.
              • Traxxas 10k - Traxxas 10k is a branded silicone based oil which provides a lighter, more fluid feel on the pieces while turning.
              • Traxxas 30k - Traxxas 30k is a branded silicone based oil which provides a balanced feel of control and speed on the pieces while turning.

              • Heavy Lubes
                •
                • Compound X - Compound X is a water-based lube designed for faster puzzles. Compound X uses the attraction of charged silicone polymers to slow down puzzles at the molecular level. This slowing effect lasts longer than traditional silicone, and also comes without the gummy silicone feel.
                • Angstrom Gravitas - Angstrom Gravitas is a high viscosity silicone lube that utilizes micro-friction of two nanoscale compounds to achieve unparalleled levels of smoothness and controllability. Gravitas is designed to be super long lasting, and retain smoothness far longer than traditional unmodified silicones.
                • Cubicle Silicone Heavy - Cubicle Silicone Heavy is our in-house silicone based lubricant which provides a controlled feel for your puzzle. This option is analogous to Cubicle Weight 5.
                • Traxxas 50k - Traxxas 50k is a branded silicone based oil which provides a heavy, controllable feeling.

                 

                Ring Lube 

                On even layer cubes, the center pieces (under the outer layer) do not rotate, rather a ring on top of the center piece rotates with the face. In order to provide controllability and smoothness, lubing this ring is necessary.

                • Cubicle Silicone Light - Cubicle Silicone Light is our in-house silicone based lubricant which provides a fluid and easy-to-start turning for your puzzle. This option is analogous to Cubicle Weight 1-2.
                • Cubicle Silicone Medium - Cubicle Silicone Medium is our in-house silicone based lubricant which provides a balanced feel of speed and control for your puzzle. This option is analogous to Cubicle Weight 3.
                • Cubicle Silicone Heavy - Cubicle Silicone Heavy is our in-house silicone based lubricant which provides a controlled feel for your puzzle. This option is analogous to Cubicle Weight 5.

                Magnets 

                Magnets give your puzzle a distinct snap when the layers align as well as providing stability and control.

                • Light - This option will give you the lightest, most subtle magnetic pull between the pieces. Good for one handed solvers.
                • Standard - This is our recommended magnetic strength. It gives the puzzle a moderate magnetic feel.
                • Strong - This is the strongest magnetic strength which ideal who want the most tactility in their cube.

                Gear Compression

                • 1-9 - Compressing the springs makes the spring travel distance shorter for less flex with a more controllable feel. Compression Level 1 is no compression and Compression Level 9 is max compression. We suggest a compression of 6-7.

                GES

                The GAN Elasticity System is a set of interchangeable springs that changes the feel of your puzzle.

                • Yellow - This option is the strongest spring and provides a more snappy, controllable feel.
                • Green - This option is a bit weaker, but still provides decent controllability.
                • Blue - This GES option is on the weaker side and will make your puzzle fast and less controllable.
                • Purple - This option is the weakest spring, meaning your puzzle will be extremely fast and uncontrollable.

                  Numerical GES Tension (For GAN356 X)

                  • 0.6 - This is the tightest setting on the numerical GES. It is the most controllable and stable setting.
                  • 0.8 - This is a slightly looser feeling setting, making the puzzle less stable and faster.
                  • 1 - This is the loosest setting on the numerical GES. It is the fastest and least stable option.


                  Tension (For GAN356 XS)

                  • 1-4 - 1 is the tightest and 4 is the loosest.


                  GMS

                  The GAN Magnetic System is a set of interchangeable magnet capsules that allows you to change the strength of magnet in the puzzle.

                  • Clear - This is the strongest magnetic option and provides very noticeable feedback when you align the layers.
                  • Yellow - This option gives a slightly lighter magnetic pull.
                  • Green - This is the lightest magnetic feel GMS. This option would be best suited for one handed.
                  • Null - This option makes the puzzle non-magnetic.

                  Valk 3 Elite M Interchangeable Magnetic Center Caps

                  The Interchangeable magnetic center caps add another level of customization when it comes to the magnetic feel.

                  • Red - This is the strongest magnetic option. These center caps give the most control and stability.
                  • Clear - This option gives the most balanced magnetic feel. A great mix of speed and controllability make this a top choice.
                  • Green - This set of center caps has no magnets. Using this option relies solely on the weak edge/corner magnets installed in the puzzle for stability.

                  Valk 3 Elite M Interchangeable Springs (Elasticity Nuts)

                  The Valk Interchangeable Spring system is very similar to the GES from GAN. They are interchangeable springs encased in plastic that give you puzzle varying feels.

                  • Red - This option is the strongest and gives the most controllable, snappy feel.
                  • Clear - This spring is the medium option. This gives the most balance between controllability and speed.
                  • Green - This is the lightest spring option. The set of springs gives the most speed, but possibly at the cost of stability.

                  MGC Elite M Spring Compression (Elasticity)

                  This is a dial you turn with your hands to adjust spring compression. It can be adjusted clockwise or counter-clockwise from 1 - 6. 1 is the least compressed, giving the loosest, fastest feeling; and 6 is the most compressed, giving a slower, more stable snappy feeling.
