Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Excellent cube, better than the stickerless black interals version

I'm sure you can find plenty of reviews online of the GAN 356 XS, so there isn't really much to talk about feature-wise. It's a great performing cube, period. This review is merely to go over the difference with the other XS versions. The primary internals helps a little bit with recognition since light is transmitted and reflected back through the colored plastic making them appear slightly brighter. If you are anywhere close to sub 10, this can possibly shave a fraction of a second off your average in poor lighting conditions (this is not an exaggeration). Aside from the color of the internals, there is a slight variation in performance in comparison to the stickered version. Even after lubing both the stickered and stickerless cubes the same way, there's just something different about the way the cubes behave; different settings are required in order to make them feel the same. My stickered XS uses setting 3 for center piece travel distance, 2 for spring tension, and 'strong' for magnet strength while my stickerless XS uses setting 1 for center piece travel distance, 2 for spring tension, and 'medium' for magnet strength. One final comment that I have is that the frosted texture can be quite polarizing to some people. Although it is a more durable surface finish than smooth plastic, the grip that you get on the pieces can be challenging at times when your hands are dry which can result in inconsistent finger flicks. As a result, I often warm up on my stickered XS before moving to the stickerless one because my fingers will be sweatier afterwards and have a better grip.

Fantastic cube!

This is truly a fantastic cube! The customization capabilities are fantastic, especially the magnets which are so easy to adjust. It is fantastically light. I prefer this to the 11 M Pro because it's a little faster, but also a bit less stable. I also love the primary look that this edition has.
