LBL Designs Magnetic Core DIY Kit for WeiLong Pyraminx

What a difference. Once I figured everything out (of course after asking some questions) I got it done. It is awesome. I put them on my Moyu Weilong pyraminx and it moves with out effort and stay in position. It’s is also a very fun project. Just add a little super glue and you are ready to go. Thanks Cubicle.

i had previously installed the upgrade kit to Steven's Weilong Pyraminx, which even a beginner pyaminx solver like me was able to immediately appreciate. so i got this kit to upgrade my practice Weilong standard pyraminx to a solid backup

In the beginning, I was not a huge fan of the Weilong Pyraminx. It was too fast and flimsy. When I added this kit, the cube felt amazing. It's still really fast, but it's so much more controllable now. I still main the Gan enhanced pyraminx, but this one now is a great contender.

My Pyraminx went from tactile, clicky, and overly fast to smooth, controllable, and consistent. With this kit, I was able to unleash my turning speed and not hold back. My average went from mid-7 to low-5. I totally recommend this kit! It is super satisfying!

Make sure you watch Stevin's video, have someone who knows how to use superglue, and plan on the installation taking about 1 to 1 and a 1/2 hours.

ive heard lots about weilongs with core magnets making cubes more stable and sometimes more controllable. the weilong is known to be a rather fast puzzle, and this definitely helped with the control, as i found that on weaker/medium magnet settings (which is what i prefer) the weilong would be too fast, and i would have to use too much heavy lube for my liking. ive noticed that this kit makes the cube more controllable and reliable without forcing me to use tighter tensions. when i first installed the kit, i did immediately feel like this was helping me finish my turns when i would turn inaccurately. i didnt feel like the halfway repelling magnets did much at first, but after a while i feel like halfway repelling magnets alongside attracting magnets when aligned does help with the fluidity of solves and can prevent minor lockups that would usually make a solve much slower. when doing random turns, i would notice that this would correct minor overturns that wouldve usually cause lockups, and that it would almost finish my turns for me. while i feel like the magnets could've been stronger and a bit larger, this core magnet kit is still something that can certainly help people who are thinking of seriously improving at pyraminx. this core magnet kit also got me a 2.19 official average :)

I’ll start this off by just saying this is worth it, and it makes your cube a lot better, but you need to set up your Weilong well or you just wasted $10 ($30 with shipping to nz) so you need set it up well! Make sure you follow Steven’s video and PLEASE glue the magnets in ESPECIALLY if you want to glue the caps down other wise it ruins a Weilong (speaking from experience, on my second) this cube is on life support with heavy lubes so be careful and don’t try anything like weight 5, and if you do want to use silicone lubes it is quite the uphill battle so be prepared for it to feel terrible before it’s broken in (and it gets really flow btw). The actual kit is really good, I got mine ages ago as part of the second batch and it still works, one thing is that I prefer the tips a lot without the extra magnets so I think you should try both and make a decision because that made the Weilong tips way more useable for me. Instal the with with glue but you don’t actually need it for the core but it just makes it permanent, I hope this helps.
