The ShengShou Master Pyraminx is the higher-order, 4x4 version of the Pyraminx, with 4 layers of rotation on each axis. The puzzle comes pre-stickered with the standard ShengShou shades. It is also pre-lubricated from the factory, and it turns very easily and smoothly right out of the box.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.
The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

To begin with, the turning is smooth and crunchy.it has no ball bearings, which makes it slightly unstable, but nothing major. The outer layers don't have much friction, but the inner layer have some.It is moderately fast, but not uncontrollable. It never popped, which is definitely a plus.It is almost a perfect "cube",with minor flaws here and there. Its amazing quality made it rise to the rank of my favorite cube for a long time, and it is still from my favorites. The solve is very fun, neither being to difficult nor too easy.I would definitely recommend to anybody, and it deserves the price of course.
Mind you that there aren't that many choices right now, but for what it does it's pretty solid. It comes pre-lubed like most Shengshou puzzles I know of. Plus has the bright fluorescent Shengshou sticker shades of blue, yellow, green and orange. Very visible even in low light and they really pop on black plastic too!
Each layer turns very smoothly and evenly, plus has corner cutting capabilities of about half a sticker, though not much reverse as this doesn't have the inner cut piece intersection angles of a regular Pyraminx. Said reverse has maybe.... a fifth of a sticker(?) or so (hard to measure), but go further and it'll want to forward turn the side you are trying to reverse cut like a gear or just not turn. So the reverse is pretty sufficient to prevent lockups.
It is not really prone to popping or weird lockups unless you have the tensions too loose. You'll know if you have them too loose as outer-edge pieces can slide out of their place into other areas, three edge pieces can pop at once (they all essentially hold each other in) or it will just feel really squishy as pieces flex rather than stay in place during turns/handling.
Interestingly it has no ball bearings/locking mechanism like most other Pyraminxes. You'd think that smooth sides would be pretty tricky to keep them aligned with the face angles and all, but the springs have a good amount of tension to keep them aligned. This includes the tips.
Very solid puzzle overall that is fun to solve as a result!
Very fun puzzle. Easy to solve even if you aren't familiar with the pyraminx. The only issue I have with this is that it feels flimsy and it catches here and there. Something I really like is that the stickers are high quality like moyu pyraminx stickers. Bright shades and thick.
This was as simple but fun puzzle. The turning is smooth but the only problem is that the layers don't align correctly causing lock ups. They should have put in ball bearing to make it more stable. I'm thinking of magnetizing it. But honestly I would recommend waiting for a better Master Pyraminx to come out.
Kinda stiff out of the box, but I'd say over all fun puzzle.
But as a green red colourblind person these stickers shades are pretty bad. Like I have to look really closely to any difference on yellow and green.
Out of the box, it was pretty stiff, but later on it became smooth-ish. Currently it's the only option for a flat-faced master pyraminx, and I hope moyu gets to make one. This isn't the best, and I certainly miss the good ol' clicky-ness of some other pyrminxes. However, puzzle-wise, it is incredibly fun, and you'll be facing a fun challenge when trying to solve this!
I love the pyraminx category of puzzles and this was the only master pyraminx I could find. Great puzzle, fun to solve, just don't expect it to turn smooth and easy. Pieces occasionally pop out and are a little tricky to put back in. Not fast but still fun and challenging.
NOT A SPEEDCUBE!!!
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, It's a fun puzzle that doesn't always turn the best.
This was my first master pyraminx, and I was very exited to get it. It turned worse then I expected, but it was fine. I was just starting to somewhat figure it out when POP! Four pieces came flying off the puzzle. I then tried to fix it. But after a little bit of time trying to put it back together, BOOM. The whole thing this time, not just four pieces completely exploded. It had okay turning at first, but the pops make it not worth buying. It is pretty good but pops. If you know how to put a master pyraminx back together, you could consider buying it. Shengshou...
This Master Pyraminx is surprisingly smooth, and the quality is superb. It turns extremely well, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who can solve a Pyraminx and wants the next level. The puzzle can fall apart occasionally if dropped on the ground, but the durability is amazing considering the amount of pieces. I've tried a few other Master Pyraminx's, but this one definitely takes the top spot.
