Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

OVERVIEW: I look for two things in a twisty puzzle: I want them to be fun to play with, and I want them to look nice when they're sitting on my shelf. The YJ Petal Pyraminx does both those things very well, and for only $7. The solve is similar to a Pyraminx, but there are rotating middle layers on each face that can exchange pieces, adding a layer of difficulty. Since the puzzle has only four faces, and the rotating pieces aren't all the same size, traditional algorithms and strategies for swapping center pieces don't work, requiring time and thought to go into how to solve the cube. While it isn't crazy difficult, it's a good puzzle for someone looking to take their cubing to the intermediate level. My first few solves took about ten minutes as I figured out how to efficiently swap centers, but now I take about three minutes to solve it.
PROS: The cube looks nice, the turning is good, and the solve challenge is perfect for someone looking to pick up and play with a cube, but not spend too long solving it.
CONS: None! Occasionally the center circles will need to be properly aligned, but this is so rare that it doesn't take away from the solve.
Has pretty good turning and very little catching because the pyraminx mech has ball bearings and the face dials use some sort of clicking mech that holds them in place. Overall very fun puzzle, not a difficult solve, but I still wouldn’t say easy. I recommend!
Great turning and is a different challenge from other similar center turning puzzles.
Definitely a must have
High quality and performance
I am really happy that I got this puzzle. It is a bit tricky to learn how to solve, but there are some really good tutorials out there, and it is now my favorite non-wca puzzle to solve. It turns better than expected, and at such a low price, this is a perfect puzzle for people who want to try something different.
