YuXin Little Magic 9x9
The YuXin Little Magic 9x9 is the newest puzzle in the very successful Little Magic line. This 9x9 speed cube is on the larger side, but turning is fantastic out of the box. It has primary plastic internals that give it a smooth, satisfying feel when turning. This puzzle features vibrant stickerless bright shades and a frosted/matte finish.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

It turns surprisingly well for such a big cube, just make sure to be careful because it looks like it can pop. My one complaint is the size. I didn’t realize it was going to be so massive. I would recommend the meilong one because that one is smaller, but if you’re okay with bigger cubes, this one is for you.
This cube was a blast to solve, within the first few hours I had already solved it a bunch of times. This cube is great for its price and definitely worth the money!
This cube is AMAZING. It has a super satisfying crunchy feel that could put someone to sleep. It is very smooth and corner-cutting is pretty decent for such a big cube. Shades are really nice. The only problem with this cube is that it is SUPER yucky and greasy on the outside. Basically just have some wet wipes near you when you unbox this .
Couldn't ask for a better 9x9. Considering this is the cheapest 9x9 I've found (as others are more than double the price), it turns surprisingly well. It is lubed out of the box and feels solid (it's actually quite heavy!). One of the layers right beside the middle layer was stuck and it seems as if this was incorrectly glued to an adjacent layer, so I got a knife and carefully slipped it through the area where the two layers were glued together. After this, the puzzle turns are as smooth as silk. Great value for a 9x9 cube and great quality. But maybe have somebody check for quality control before shipping out these cubes so that customers don't find pieces that are glued together out of the box (-1 star for this).
I am not a speed cubist, I am just someone who has loved solving twisty puzzles all her life and has been amazed by the variants that have been created since the humble 3x3 hooked the world...
After recently treating myself to the Little Magic 6x6M and 7x7M and enjoying those, I took a chance with the Little Magic 8x8 and 9x9 ...
Both arrived with a bit of lube on the faces (see pic), which wiped off nicely. Unlike the 6x6M and 7x7M, these are made with the standard milky white plastic and the colors are essentially caps (so you see white instead of split colors as you turn slices). The faces are also a matte finish, which nicely adds a tiny bit more grip to these larger puzzles. I found the slices on the 6x6M to be about as small as I like for my finger size, and the 7x7M were too small due to the overall small size of the cube (which really slows me down by having to double-turn to turn a slice). Sure, they are not speed cubes - I am just talking of my preference on how I like to turn a puzzle with my fingering style... The slices on the 9x9 are nearly identical to the 7x7M which, combined with the bigger overall size, means there will be no slice turn shortcuts with my larger hands. Despite the lube on the faces, this puzzle likely needs a drop of some sort of lube. Amazingly, every slice turns with the same effort on every axis, so I'm very happy with how smooth it is... This puzzle is a comfortable size in my hands overall, which makes it a joy to manipulate. That said, it's at the weight where after you play with it for two hours, you may start to notice it... :) I have had no issues with pops/twists/alignment and find it surprisingly tolerant of such things. I do think that if they came out with a magnetic version of these two, that it would be helpful to give it that little boost of structural integrity that could put people's opinions of large cubes over the proverbial top...!
Oh, one thing I keep forgetting to mention in my reviews are the colors. I really liked how vibrant the 6x6M was, and even saw it as a slight improvement over the traditional Rubik's color scheme. Then the 7x7M had that washed out blue and red, which was ok... Then the 8x8 and 9x9 being cap-style (and thus thinner with white backing it) made those washed out even more. I suppose they still maintain good color separation in assorted lighting, but I would much rather have the bolder colors of the 6x6M on all the rest of the Little Magic line... Maybe that'll happen when/if they magnetize the bigger cubes? Hehehe - a girl can dream!
All told, I am very happy with this puzzle... 🙋♀️
I put a GAN logo on it
made all my friends believe I was sent a prototype
Really good and smooth turning. It is very big so I don’t think it’s best for speed solving. (for that I would suggest the meilong as it’s smaller) It looks incredible and because of its size it’s very impressive.
This was my first 9x9, so I did not know what to expect. But the cube so good for the price and might be better than the more expensive ones. If you want a 9x9, get this one!
Overall split ant premium quality but okay not the best for speed solving
If you have big hands screw the rest ge this
I have really enjoyed this cube. I love the natural plastic. It turns and solves great for the size. I also love that it is a bigger 9x9. It gives the feeling that you are solving something crazy.
