GAN15 UV 3x3 (NewBlack)

i like the black but i want the maglev

Really enjoying the cube but I don't fully know what's different from the regular version. It's a very smooth cube, tactile feel and extremely light. I had to play around with the settings to get it to cut well.

I own both a gan 15 maglev UV (white internals) and a newblack (springs), and I have to say while the black internals are nicer, never in a million years would I choose the springs as they're just so horribly slow. If you really want to buy one of each like I did and put the maglev in the black one I can confirm yes, it's great. It's just really not worth jt

I like the black internal. It is noisier than the normal one. Also, it is slower than the original.

black internals for my color recognition. (i miss my GAN354M v1)
uv coating(i guess this is the only way to get glossy nowadays)
simple adjustments that are actually in my range.(corner mags could be better implemented)
with angstrom for long term control, and a drop or two of dnm right before a session, i finally have a GAN that doesn't feel drunk in my hands.
after convincing myself maglev had to be better for years, i've come to realize it really hasn't been implemented well on any brand except MAYBE the GAN12, and that just sucked the least.
they also got rid of the corner magnet catching/clicking that was on the original 15

The cube is more stable than the maglev version, but in my opinion the maglev looks better.

Before I start, I should mention that the only GAN 3x3 I’ve owned and tested is the 356 M. The 356 M has some issues with lockups, corner twists, and just being generally too uncontrollable. I’ve heard some similar complaints about other GAN 3x3’s with lockups being a major point. I’ve also heard that the GAN 12 is regarded as one of their best releases—outperforming the 13, 14, and maybe even 15. I personally have only ever tried the 356 M and the NewBlack but I have to say, the NewBlack is an outstanding cube.

I usually main the WRM 10 with other cubes interspersed here and there, but I think the NewBlack might be one of my favorite cubes I’ve used so far. Compared to the previous complaints of GAN cubes, I have only ever experienced minor lockups here and there which is likely a setup or user error. It’s smooth, controllable, and overall less prone to lockups out of the box. I love the GAN color-way and the black internals really make this cube POP. Overall, I enjoy the simple adjustment system, overall feel, and unique experience.

The only reason the cube doesn’t get 5 stars is because of its steep price point. MoYu is able to keep their Weilong series relatively cheap with remarkable cubes that compete with GAN’s line of 3x3’s and even their NewBlack.

I got the Gan 15 New Black in the mail (5/30/2025), and right after I took the cube out of the box, it felt very blocky and wouldn't turn. So I disassembled the cube and saw that one of the default white rods was broken (I attached a picture), and the magnet that should be in there was attached to the core.

I did get the other items on the order fine. (As you can see, the white rod has cracks in it, and the piece is about to fall off.)

Gave away as a prize for a cubing tournament that I put on. After setting it up, became his new main! Be careful that you properly secure the adjustable magnets or it sounds terrible. I enjoyed it so much that I too bought one for my collection.
